Peppa Pig is a British preschool animated children's television series created by Neville Astley and Mark Baker. Produced by Hasbro Entertainment and Karrot Animation and formerly Astley Baker Davies, the series follows Peppa, an anthropomorphic piglet, and her family and friends portrayed as other animals. The show first aired on 31 May 2004. The ninth series began broadcasting in summer 2025. Peppa Pig has been broadcast in over 180 countries.

(/ˈhæzbr/; a syllabic abbreviation of its original name, Hassenfeld Brothers) is an American multinational toy manufacturing and entertainment holding company founded on December 6, 1923 by Henry, Hillel and Herman Hassenfeld and is incorporated and headquartered in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Hasbro owns the trademarks and products of Kenner, Milton Bradley, Parker Brothers, and Wizards of the Coast, among others. As of August 2020, over 81.5% of its shares were held by large financial institutions.

Among Hasbro's products are Transformers, G.I. Joe, Power Rangers, Rom the Space Knight, Micronauts, M.A.S.K., Monopoly, Furby, Nerf, Potato Head, Bop It!, Play-Doh, Twister, and My Little Pony, and with the Entertainment One (now Lionsgate Canada) acquisition on December 30, 2019, franchises like Peppa Pig and PJ Masks. Hasbro also spawned TV shows to promote its products, such as Family Game Night on Discovery Family, which has been co-owned by Hasbro since 2010. The company sold Entertainment One to Lionsgate (now Starz Entertainment) on December 27, 2023, however, it kept eOne's family brands and eOne's stake in Astley Baker Davies, placing them into a new division known as Hasbro Entertainment, formed on August 16, 2023. PJ Masks (French: Pyjamasques) is an animated superhero children's television series based on the Les Pyjamasques book series by Romuald Racioppo. Produced by Frog Box and Hasbro Entertainment in collaboration with TeamTO and Walt Disney EMEA Productions Limited, its production has the participation of France Télévisions during the first five seasons and TF1 Group from the sixth season and onwards. The series is broadcast worldwide on Disney Branded Television's Disney Channel and Disney Junior channels; in its home country of France, it airs on France 5 and TF1.

In the United States, the series has been broadcast on Disney Junior since September 18, 2015. The sixth season titled Power Heroes began in April 2023 and concluded in April 2024.

Discovery Family (known on-air as Discovery Family Channel and abbreviated as DFC) is an American cable television channel co-owned by Warner Bros. Discovery Global Linear Networks and Hasbro Entertainment.

The channel was launched on October 22, 1996 by Discovery Communications (later Discovery, Inc.) as Discovery Kids Channel (later Discovery Kids), a child-oriented offshoot of Discovery Channel featuring science, nature, and adventure-themed programs. In 2010, Discovery Kids was re-launched as The Hub (later Hub Network) through a joint venture with Hasbro led by veteran executive Margaret Loesch. The re-launch pivoted the channel towards a general entertainment format, with dayparts targeting preschool, youth, and family audiences. Hasbro-owned properties served as the basis for several of The Hub's original programs, including game show versions of board games and animated series linked to toy lines like My Little Pony, Littlest Pet Shop, Pound Puppies, Transformers, and Kaijudo.

Hasbro Entertainment in the context of Astley Baker Davies

Astley Baker Davies is a British animation studio based in London, England, originally owned by founder-directors Neville Astley, Mark Baker, and Phil Davies. It is the production company behind television series The Big Knights, Peppa Pig, and Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom. In 2015, it became a subsidiary of Entertainment One, which took a 70% stake. In 2023, Hasbro kept eOne's stake in the company, making it the majority subsidiary of Hasbro's newly created division Hasbro Entertainment, due to eOne's non-children assets being sold to Lionsgate later in the year.

On 16 March 2021, it was announced that Entertainment One renewed Peppa Pig until 2027, and after 19 years, the original creators and the company were going to leave production. Animation studio Karrot Animation (known for producing Sarah & Duck) will take over production from then on.
