• Polymele, daughter of Autolycus and one of the possible mothers of Jason by Aeson, King of Iolcus. • Polymele, wife of Thestor and mother of Calchas and possibly also of Leucippe and Theonoe.
• Polymele, daughter of Phylas and wife of Echecles. She was loved by Hermes, who spotted her while she was performing a ritual dance in honor of Artemis, and had by him a son, Eudoros.
• Polymele, daughter of Aeolus. When Odysseus visited their island, he fell in love with her and lay with her secretly. Soon after the guest's departure, Aeolus discovered his daughter crying over some spoils from Troy which Odysseus had given to her as presents. Outraged, he was about to exact vengeance upon Polymele, but his son Diores, who was in love with his own sister, intervened and implored Aeolus to marry her to him, to which Aeolus consented.

Amphithea (Ancient Greek: Ἀμφιθέα) is the name of several women in Greek mythology:

• Amphithea, who was, according to some, the wife of Lycurgus, king of Nemea, and mother of Opheltes (later called Archemorus).
• Amphithea, daughter of Pronax, son of King Talaus of Argos, and thus, sister to Lycurgus. She married Adrastus and was the mother of Argia, Deipyle, Aegiale, Aegialeus and Cyanippus. Another account refers to her as the wife of Dion and the mother of Carya, Lyco and Orphe.
• Amphithea, wife of Autolycus and mother of Anticlea (the mother of Odysseus), Polymede (possible mother of Jason), and a number of sons, including Aesimus (the father of Sinon).
• Amphithea, wife of Aeolus the Etrurian king, and mother of six sons and six daughters, the youngest boy being Macareus, who made his sister Canace pregnant. Both he and his sister killed themselves.

Amphinome and her other sisters appeared to Thetis when she cries out in sympathy for the grief of Achilles for his slain friend Patroclus.
• Amphinome, wife of Aeson, King of Iolcus. She was the mother to Jason and Promachus, Aeson's sons. She and her husband were persecuted by king Pelias of Iolcus. After Pelias had killed her husband and younger son, Amphinome stabbed herself with a sword. As she lay dying she pronounced a curse against the king. Otherwise, the mother of the hero was called (1) Polymele (Polymede or Polypheme); (2) Theognete, daughter of Laodicus; (3) Rhoeo, daughter of Staphylus; (4) Alcimede, daughter of Phylacus; and lastly (5) Arne or (6) Scarphe.

In Greek mythology, Arne (/ˈɑːrniː/; Ancient Greek: Ἄρνη) may refer to four different characters:

• Arne, the nymph nurse of Poseidon. She was previously called Sinoessa (Σινόεσσα) but when she took the young god from Rhea to raise and denying him to Cronus, she was named Arne afterwards. When Cronus searched after his son, Arne is said to have declared that she knew not where he was. From her the town of Arne was believed to have received its name which was also called Sinoessa in earlier times.
• Arne (daughter of Aeolus), daughter of Aeolus (son of Hellen) and mother of Aeolus (son of Poseidon) and Boeotia by Poseidon.
• Arne, mother by Aeson of Jason and possibly Promachus. In some accounts, Jason's mother was called (1) Alcimede, daughter of Phylacus; (2) Polymede (Polymele or Polypheme), daughter of Autolycus; (3) Amphinome; (4) Rhoeo, daughter of Staphylus; (5) Theognete, daughter of Laodicus; and lastly, (6) Scarphe.
