Ivan Franko Street or Ivana Franka Street (Ukrainian: Вулиця Івана Франка, romanized: Vulycja Ivana Franka) is a street in the Shevchenkivskyi District of the city of Kyiv, in the Afanasiivskyi Yar neighbourhood. It runs from Yaroslav's Wall Street to Taras Shevchenko Boulevard.
Ivan Franko Street is connected with Vyacheslav Lypynsky Street, Bohdan Khmelnytsky Street, and the Botanical Square, where the A.V. Fomin Botanical Garden as well as St Volodymyr's Cathedral are located.
Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Ukrainian: Майдан Незалежності, IPA: [mɐjˈdɑn nezɐˈlɛʒnos⁽ʲ⁾t⁽ʲ⁾i]) or Independence Square is the central town square of Kyiv, the capital city of Ukraine. One of the city's main squares, it is located on Khreshchatyk Street in the Shevchenko Raion. The square contains the iconic Independence Monument.
In the 19th century, the square contained buildings of the city council and noble assembly.

The city's Christmas and New Year's festivities were held in Sofiiska Square from 2014 onwards, after they were moved from Maidan Nezalezhnosti due to the events of Euromaidan. Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, many of the festivities have been indefinitely suspended.
