Central Vista Redevelopment Project is the ongoing redevelopment of the Central Vista, India's central administrative area located near Raisina Hill, New Delhi. Designed and constructed by Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker during British rule as the seat of the imperial government, the area was retained by the Government of India following independence. Scheduled for completion between 2020 and 2026, the project seeks to transform the 3 km (1.9 mi) stretch of Rajpath spanning from Rashtrapati Bhavan to India Gate into a modern, pedestrian-friendly boulevard. Key components include the construction of a new Parliament building with increased seating capacity, a new Central Secretariat to house all ministries, and new official residences and offices for the Prime Minister and Vice President near the North and South Blocks. The existing North and South Blocks will be converted into publicly accessible museums, along with the adaptive reuse of other historic structures.
The redevelopment project is estimated to cost around ₹13,450 crore (approximately ₹160 billion or US$1.9 billion as of 2023), with expenses spread over a four-year period.

Urban renewal involves the clearing out of areas deemed blighted, often in inner cities, in favour of new housing, businesses, and other developments.
Eminent domain, also known as land acquisition, compulsory purchase, resumption, resumption/compulsory acquisition, or expropriation, is the compulsory acquisition of private property for public use. It does not include the power to take and transfer ownership of private property from one property owner to another private property owner without a valid public purpose. This power can be legislatively delegated by the state to municipalities, government subdivisions, or even to private persons or corporations, when they are authorized to exercise the functions of public character.
The most common uses of property taken by eminent domain have been for roads, government buildings and public utilities. Many railroads were given the right of eminent domain to obtain land or easements in order to build and connect rail networks. In the mid-20th century, a new application of eminent domain was pioneered, in which the government could take the property and transfer it to a private third party for redevelopment. This was initially done only to a property that had been deemed "blighted" or a "development impediment", on the principle that such properties had a negative impact upon surrounding property owners, but was later expanded to allow the taking of any private property when the new third-party owner could develop the property in such a way as to bring in increased tax revenues to the government.
Hudson Yards is a neighborhood on the West Side of Midtown Manhattan in New York City, bounded roughly by 30th Street in the south, 41st Street in the north, the West Side Highway in the west, and Eighth Avenue in the east. The area is the site of a large-scale redevelopment program that is being planned, funded, and constructed under a set of agreements among the State of New York, City of New York, and Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), with the aim of expanding the Midtown Manhattan business district westward to the Hudson River. The program includes a major rezoning of the Far West Side, an extension of the New York City Subway's 7 and <7> trains to a new subway station at 34th Street and 11th Avenue, a renovation and expansion of the Javits Center, and a financing plan to fund the various components. The various components are being planned by the New York City Department of City Planning and New York City Economic Development Corporation.
The largest of the projects made possible by the rezoning is the 28-acre (11 ha) multiuse Hudson Yards real estate development by Related Companies and Oxford Properties, which is being built over the West Side Rail Yard. Construction began in 2012 with the groundbreaking for 10 Hudson Yards, and is projected to be completed by 2024. According to its master plan, created by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, the Hudson Yards development would include 16 skyscrapers to be constructed in two phases. Architects including Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill, Thomas Heatherwick, Roche-Dinkeloo, and Diller Scofidio + Renfro contributed designs for individual structures. Major office tenants include or will include Tapestry, Equinox Fitness, and BlackRock.
