The Limassol District, simply known as Limassol or Lemesos, is one of the six districts of Cyprus. As of 2021, it had a population of 262,238, 75,7% of which was urban The district's capital city is Limassol. Part of the British Overseas Territory of Akrotiri and Dhekelia forms an enclave on the Akrotiri Peninsula, under the sovereignty of the SBA (Sovereign Base Areas Administration).

Limassol, also known as Lemesos, is a city along the southern coast of Cyprus, on the Mediterranean Sea. Limassol is the most populated municipality in Cyprus, with a population of 108,105 and is the second-largest urban area in Cyprus, after Nicosia, with an urban population of 195,139. It is the capital of the Limassol District with a population of 262,238.
Limassol was built between two ancient Greek cities, Amathus and Kourion. Its historical centre is located around the medieval Limassol Castle and the Old Port. The city spreads along the Mediterranean coast and has extended much farther than the castle and port, with its suburbs stretching along the coast to Amathus. To the west of the city is Akrotiri, one of the two British Overseas Territories of Akrotiri and Dhekelia on the island.

Limassol District in the context of Agios Tychonas
Agios Tychonas (Greek: Άγιος Τύχωνας) is a village and a municipal district of the Amathounta Municipality in the Limassol District of Cyprus, located east of Limassol. The ancient ruins of Amathus are located near the town.
Agios Tychonas is named for Saint Tychon of Amathus, a Fifth Century bishop of Amathus.
Limassol District in the context of Larnaca District
The Larnaca District, or simply Larnaca (also Larnaka), is one of the six districts of Cyprus. Its capital is Larnaca. It is bordered on the east by Famagusta District, on the north by Nicosia District and on the west by Limassol District.
A small part of the district was occupied by the Turkish army in 1974, and most of the occupied part is now de facto administered as part of Northern Cyprus's Lefkoşa District, with the remaining area near Pergamos being de facto administered by the Gazimağusa District.

Olympus, or Chionistra, (Greek: Όλυμπος or Χιονίστρα; Turkish: Olimpos Tepesi) at 1,952 metres (6,404 ft), is the highest point in Cyprus. It is located in the Troodos Mountains of Cyprus. Mount Olympus peak and the "Troodos Square" fall under the territory of Platres in Limassol District. A British long range radar currently operates at Mount Olympus' peak. It has a highland warm-summer mediterranean climate.
Mount Olympus is formed of ultramafic rock, dominantly serpentinized harzburgite which is part of the Troodos ophiolite.

Amathounta Municipality (Greek: Δήμος Αμαθούντας) is a municipality located in the Limassol District of Cyprus. Headquartered in Agios Athanasios, it is composed of eight municipal districts: Agios Athanasios, Germasogeia, Agios Tychonas, Akrounta, Mathikoloni, Mouttagiaka, Foinikaria, and Armenochori.
Limassol District in the context of Kouris River
Kouris River (Greek Κούρης; Turkish Kuris) is a waterway in Cyprus. Measuring 38 kilometres (24 mi) in length, it originates on the south part of the Troodos Mountains, traverses Limassol District, and reaches the sea at Kourion. Not much of the river exists in the lower reaches of its course after the building of the Kouris Dam in the 1980s. This had to effect of enlarging the river's northern basin. Erimi is situated on the river's eastern side, while Kantou is on the western portion. Episkopi, built atop Kourion, is situated near the river's western bank. Luigi Palma di Cesnola explored the area around the river's mouth and reported on it the 1870s.

The Vasilikos (Greek: Βασιλικός, Turkish: Vasiliko) is a river in Larnaca District, Cyprus, with small section in Limassol District. The river starts just south of Machairas Forest in the Troodos Mountains in the village area of Ayii Vavatsinias, and flows south-east to the sea at the port of Vasiliko (or Vassiliko).
The Vasilikos is an intermittent river, as are its tributaries. It typically has peak flow in February and March, while from July to October the river is dry. The river has a length of 32 km (20 mi) and the area of the river basin (catchment area) is 151 km (58 mi).
