Vallés Oriental (Spanish pronunciation: [baˈʎes oɾiˈenta]) is a comarca (county) in the Barcelona region in Catalonia (Spain). Its capital is Granollers. Along with Vallès Occidental it forms the historical Vallès region.
In May 2015, Vallès Oriental lost four municipalities - Castellcir, Castellterçol, Granera, Sant Quirze Safaja - to the new comarca of Moianès.
Central Catalonia (Catalan: Catalunya Central; IPA: [kə.təˈɫu.ɲə sənˈtɾaɫ]), also known as Comarques Centrals, is one of the nine regions (vegueries) of Catalonia.
It had 412,033 inhabitants in 2022. Located around the upper and middle sections of the Llobregat and Ter rivers, it includes the counties of Bages, Berguedà, Lluçanès, Moianès, Osona and Solsonès. It borders to the north-west with Alt Pirineu, to the west with Ponent, to the south with Penedès, to the south-east with Barcelona and to the north and north-east with Girona.

It has an area of 5,558 km² and 761,690 inhabitants as of 2022.
Located by the border with Northern Catalonia in France, the region includes the counties of Gironès, Alt Empordà, Baix Empordà, Garrotxa, Pla de l'Estany, Ripollès and Selva. Within Catalonia, it borders Alt Pirineu to the west, Central Catalonia to the south-west and Barcelona to the south.
