Tekirdağ Province in the context of "Battle of Tzirallum"

Edirne Province (Turkish: Edirne ili) is a Turkish province located in East Thrace. Part of European Turkey, it is one of only three provinces located entirely within continental Europe. Its area is 6,145 km, and its population is 414,714 (2022). Edirne Province is bordered by Tekirdağ Province and Kırklareli Province to the east, and the Gallipoli peninsula of Çanakkale Province to the south-east. It shares international borders with Bulgaria (Haskovo and Yambol Provinces) to the north and Greece (Eastern Macedonia and Thrace) to the west. Edirne is the capital of the province, and the largest city. It is the only province of Turkey that borders Greece.

Süleymanpaşa (Turkish: [sylejˈmanpaʃa]) is a municipality and district of Tekirdağ Province, Turkey. Its area is 1,053 km, and its population is 215,558 (2022). It covers the city of Tekirdağ and the surrounding countryside.

The district and municipality Süleymanpaşa was created at the 2013 Turkish local government reorganisation from the former central district of Tekirdağ. The name Süleymanpaşa refers to the Ottoman prince Süleyman, the first commander of Turkish troops in Thrace in the 14th century.

Çorlu (Turkish: [ˈtʃoɾɫu] ) is a municipality and district of Tekirdağ Province, northwestern Turkey. Its area is 531 km, and its population is 300,296 (2024). It is a rapidly growing industrial center built on flatland located on the motorway Otoyol 3 and off the highway D.100 between Istanbul and Turkey's border with Greece and Bulgaria. The nearest airport is Tekirdağ Çorlu Atatürk Airport (TEQ).

Sultanköy is a neighbourhood of the municipality and district of Marmara Ereğlisi, Tekirdağ Province, Turkey. Its population is 2,538 (2022). Before the 2013 reorganisation, it was a town (belde).

Malkara (Greek: Μάλγαρα, Malgara) is a municipality and district of Tekirdağ Province, Turkey. Its area is 1,243 km (the largest in Tekirdağ Province), and its population is 50,988 (2022). It is located at 55 km west of Tekirdağ and 190 km from Istanbul. The mayor is Nergiz Karaağaçlı Öztürk (CHP).

Silivri, formerly Selymbria (Greek: Σηλυμβρία), is a municipality and district of Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its population is 217,163 (2022). It lies along the Sea of Marmara, outside the urban core of Istanbul, containing many holiday and weekend homes for residents of the city. The largest settlement in the district is also named Silivri.

Silivri is located bordering Büyükçekmece to the east, Çatalca to the north, Çorlu and Marmara Ereğlisi (both districts of Tekirdağ Province) to the west, Çerkezköy to the north-west (one of Tekirdağ Province) and with the Sea of Marmara to the south. It is, with an area of 858 km (331 sq mi), the second largest district of Istanbul Province after Çatalca. The seat of the district is the city of Silivri.

The Governor of Tekirdağ (Turkish: Tekirdağ Valiliği) is the bureaucratic state official responsible for both national government and state affairs in the Province of Tekirdağ. Similar to the Governors of the 80 other Provinces of Turkey, the Governor of Tekirdağ is appointed by the Government of Turkey and is responsible for the implementation of government legislation within Tekirdağ. The Governor is also the most senior commander of both the Tekirdağ provincial police force and the Tekirdağ Gendarmerie.
