Science and technology in Ukraine has its modern development and historical origins in the 18th and 19th centuries and is associated, first of all, with the Kyiv Mohyla Academy, University of Kyiv and University of Kharkiv. The founding of Ukraine's main research institution, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, in 1918 by Volodymyr Vernadsky marked an important milestone in the country's subsequent scientific and technological development.

Ukraine's space science advanced rapidly in the aftermath of World War II, with Korolyov and Chelomey leading the rocket and spaceflight development in the Soviet Union during the Space Race.

The Kyiv City Teacher's House (Ukrainian: ΠšΠΈΡ—Π²ΡΡŒΠΊΠΈΠΉ ΠΌΡ–ΡΡŒΠΊΠΈΠΉ Π±ΡƒΠ΄ΠΈΠ½ΠΎΠΊ учитСля, romanized:Β Kyivskyi miskyi budynok uchytelia) also known as the Central Council House (Ukrainian: Π‘ΡƒΠ΄ΠΈΠ½ΠΎΠΊ Π¦Π΅Π½Ρ‚Ρ€Π°Π»ΡŒΠ½ΠΎΡ— Π Π°Π΄ΠΈ, romanized:Β Budynok Tsentralnoi Rady) is a historical building located at 57 Volodymyrska Street, in Kyiv, Ukraine. The building is located next to the "Yellow Building"of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and the Presidium Building of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

Currently, it is mainly occupied by the Ukrainian Trade Union of workers of Education and Science in Kyiv. It also houses the Pedagogical museum, the museum of Ukrainian Revolution (1917-1920), the State Pedagogical and Science Library of Sukhomlynsky, and the Cultural Center "Kyianochka". Both museums are located on the second floor.
