Samsunspor Kulübü (officially Samsunspor Futbol Kulübü Anonim Şirketi) is a Turkish professional association football club based in the city of Samsun, on the southern coast of the Black Sea. The club competes in the Süper Lig, the top tier of the Turkish football league system.

Established as the football branch of Samsunspor Sports Club, the team attained professional status on 30 June 1965. Initially hosting matches at the City Stadium, Samsunspor moved to the 19 Mayıs Stadium in 1975, and since the 2017–18 season have played their home games at the newly constructed Samsun 19 Mayıs Stadium, which has a capacity of over 33,000.

Samsun 19 Mayıs Stadium is a football stadium in Tekkeköy, Samsun, Turkey. It was opened in 2017 with a seating capacity of 34,403 spectators. It is the home ground of Samsunspor which plays in the Süper Lig. It replaced the club's former home ground, the old Samsun 19 Mayıs Stadium (located in Canik), which was demolished in 2018. The first official match hosted by the stadium was the 2017 Turkish Super Cup final.

The 2023 Turkey–Syria earthquake, located in faraway Kahramanmaraş Province caused minor damage to the stadium.

The TFF 1. Lig (lit. 'TFF 1st League'), currently referred to as Trendyol 1. Lig for sponsorship reasons, is the second level of the Turkish football league system. The league was founded in 2001 as the Turkish Second League Category A after the reorganization of the Second Football League, which was the second level of the Turkish league system between 1963 and 2001. The league was called Türk Telekom Lig A in the 2006–07 season, and was renamed to TFF 1. Lig prior to the 2007–08 season. As of 16 January 2008 the league was renamed as Bank Asya 1. Lig. In April 2012 Bank Asya withdrew as sponsor of the league. During the 2012–2016 seasons the league was known under the terms of a sponsorship deal as the PTT 1. Lig.

Before the 2005–06 season, the top three teams were promoted to Süper Lig and the bottom three teams were relegated to the Turkish Second League Category B. Since the 2005–06 season through 2008–09, the top two teams are directly promoted to the Süper Lig, the teams finishing 3rd through 6th competed in a play-off. The third-placed team played a match with the sixth-placed team, while the fourth-placed team played against the fifth-placed team. The winners of both matches then played against each other to decide the third team that was promoted. In 2009–10 the third team was determined by play-off group games, in which the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th teams of normal season played in a one-game league system in a neutral venue. In 2010–11 play-off status changed again and elimination match system came back but this time on a two-leg (home and away) basis.

Fenerbahçe Spor Kulübü (Turkish: [feˈnæɾbahtʃe], Fenerbahçe Sports Club), commonly known simply as Fenerbahçe, or colloquially as Fener is the football branch of Fenerbahçe Sports Club association, based in Kadıköy district of Istanbul, Turkey. They compete in the Süper Lig, the top division of Turkish football. Founded in 1907, Fenerbahçe is one of Turkey’s most successful and widely supported clubs, boasting a record 28 Turkish national championship titles, including victories in the Turkish Football Championship and the Süper Lig era. The club has also won 9 Turkish Super Cups and 7 Turkish Cups, making them one of the most decorated teams in Turkish football history. Beşiktaş Jimnastik Kulübü (Turkish pronunciation: [beˈʃictaʃ], lit. 'Beşiktaş Gymnastics Club'), abbreviated as BJK, is a Turkish professional sports club founded in 1903 that is based in the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul. The club's football team is one of the Big Three in Turkey and one of the most successful teams in the country, having never been relegated to a lower division. It was the first registered sports club in the country and one of the few that acquired the right to bear the Turkish flag on its crest.

Trabzonspor Kulübü is a Turkish professional sports club located in the city of Trabzon, located in northeastern Turkey. Established in 1967 through the merger of several local clubs, Trabzonspor is one of the most prominent football clubs in Turkish history. The men’s football team has won seven Süper Lig championships, making Trabzonspor the first non-Istanbul-based club to achieve this feat in the Turkish league system. Known for its vibrant orange and navy colors, the club was established in 1990 and competes in the top tier of Turkish football, the Süper Lig.

The team plays its home matches at the Başakşehir Fatih Terim Stadium, which has been their base since 2014. As one club of six Istanbul-based clubs in the Süper Lig this season, Başakşehir has carved out its identity as a competitive force domestically and on the European stage. The club achieved its first league championship in the 2019–20 season, marking a milestone in its relatively young history.
