Stockholm commuter rail (Swedish: Stockholms pendeltåg) is the commuter rail system in Stockholm County, Sweden. The system is an important part of the public transport in Stockholm, and is controlled by Storstockholms Lokaltrafik. The tracks are state-owned and administered by the Swedish Transport Administration, while the operation of the Stockholm commuter rail services itself has been contracted to SJ AB since March 2024.

The Yellow Line (Swedish: Gula linjen) is a line under construction on the Stockholm Metro, that will connect Fridhemsplan in the west of central Stockholm to Älvsjö in the southern part of the city. The line is planned to open for service in 2034, and should serve approximately 75,000 passengers per day by 2050.
The Yellow Line will use a traffic control system with driverless operation, platform screen doors, and ballastless track, making it the first metro line in Stockholm to incorporate these features. The line will feature interchanges with all three of the Metro's existing lines, as well as to the Stockholm commuter rail and Tvärbanan light rail, however will be the Metro's first line without a station at T-Centralen.

The Réseau Express Régional (French pronunciation: [ʁezo ɛkspʁɛs ʁeʒjɔnal]; English: Regional Express Network), commonly abbreviated RER (pronounced [ɛʁəɛʁ]), is a hybrid commuter rail and rapid transit system serving the city centre of Paris and its suburbs. It acts as a combined city centre underground rail system and suburbs-to-city-centre commuter rail, similar to the S-Bahn in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, S-train in Copenhagen, the Pendeltåg in Sweden, the Overground and Elizabeth Line in London, S Lines in Milan, plus many other commuter rail networks around the world.
Conceived of as a métropolitain express ('express metro') during the mid-1930s, the scheme was revived in the 1950s and construction began in the early 1960s. The RER was not fully conceptualised until the completion of the Schéma directeur d'aménagement et d'urbanisme (rough translation: 'master plan for urban development') in 1965. The RER network, which initially comprised two lines, was formally inaugurated on 8 December 1977 in a ceremony that was attended by President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing. A second phase of construction commenced at the end of the 1970s which saw additional lines constructed along with extensions to the original two. The RER is operated partly by RATP, the authority that operates most of the public transport in Paris, and partly by the SNCF, France's national rail operator.

Storstockholms Lokaltrafik known as SL, (lit. 'Greater Stockholm Local Transport') is the public transport organisation responsible for managing land-based public transport in Stockholm County, Sweden. SL oversees a network that includes the Tunnelbana metro, Pendeltåg commuter trains, buses, trams, local rail, and some ferry services.
SL's network serves approximately 700,000 daily passengers and is financed through a combination of regional taxes and fare revenues. The organisation operates under a unified ticketing system, and contracts with several private operators to run its services, including Transdev, SJ, VR Sverige, Keolis, and Stockholms Spårvägar.
