The premetro and tram route 4 in Brussels, Belgium, is operated by STIB/MIVB, and connects the Stalle Parking stop in the southern municipality of Uccle to Brussels-North railway station in the municipality of Schaerbeek. It was created on 2 July 2007 as a new route between Esplanade and Stalle Parking. On 31 August 2009, the route was shortened with a new terminus at Brussels-North, while line 3 was expanded between Brussels-North and Esplanade. The colour of the signage for this line is pink.

Following the disbandment of line 3 in 2024, only tram lines 4 and 10 remain in the North–South Axis that runs underneath the Pentagon (Brussels' city centre). Both lines 4 and 10 have a 6-minute schedule during rush hour and are serviced by the modern low-floor trams (Bombardier T3000 and T4000).

The Maelbeek (French, pronounced [malbek, -bɛk] ; former Dutch spelling) or Maalbeek (modern Dutch, pronounced [ˈmaːlbeːk]) is a stream that flows through several municipalities in Brussels, Belgium, including Etterbeek, Ixelles, Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, Schaerbeek. It is a tributary of the Senne, which it joins up in Schaerbeek, from its source located to the south near La Cambre Abbey. Maelbeek/Maalbeek metro station is located in the central area of this Maalbeek valley.

The name Maalbeek, meaning "mill brook", comes from the Dutch words beek (meaning "brook") and maal (meaning "to mill"). Molenbeek has a similar derivation. The stream was vaulted in 1872, at which time there were 58 ponds along it. Nowadays, only six are left: the ponds of La Cambre Abbey; of Ixelles (two); of Leopold Park; of Marie-Louise Square; and of Josaphat Park.

The Rue Royale (French, pronounced [ʁy ʁwajal]; "Royal Street") or Koningsstraat (Dutch, pronounced [ˈkoːnɪŋstraːt]; "King's Street") is a street in Brussels, Belgium, running through the municipalities of Schaerbeek, Saint-Josse-ten-Noode and the City of Brussels. It is limited to the south by the Place Royale/Koningsplein in the city centre and to the north by the Place de la Reine/Koninginplein in Schaerbeek.

Several places of interest lie along the Rue Royale, for instance the BELvue Museum, Brussels Park, the Congress Column, the Hotel Astoria, the Botanical Garden of Brussels, Le Botanique concert hall and Saint Mary's Royal Church. In addition, many companies have offices on the street, for instance Accenture and BNP Paribas Fortis, as well as the French-speaking Community of Belgium.

Etterbeek (French: [etœʁbek, -bɛk] ; Dutch: [ˈɛtərˌbeːk] ) is one of the 19 municipalities of the Brussels-Capital Region, Belgium. Located in the eastern part of the region, it is bordered by the municipalities of Auderghem, the City of Brussels, Ixelles, Schaerbeek, Woluwe-Saint-Lambert and Woluwe-Saint-Pierre. In common with all of Brussels' municipalities, it is legally bilingual (French–Dutch).

Saint-Josse-ten-Noode (French, pronounced [sɛ̃ ʒɔs tœn nod] ) or Sint-Joost-ten-Node (Dutch, pronounced [sɪɲˌtɕoːstɛˈnoːdə] ), often simply called Saint-Josse in French or Sint-Joost in Dutch, is one of the 19 municipalities of the Brussels-Capital Region, Belgium. Located in the north-eastern part of the region, it is bordered by the City of Brussels and Schaerbeek.

As of 1 January 2022, the municipality had a total population of 26,965. The total area is 1.16 km (0.45 sq mi), which gives a population density of 23,234/km (60,180/sq mi). From a total of 581 municipalities in Belgium, Saint-Josse is both the smallest in area size and the most densely populated. In common with all of Brussels' municipalities, it is legally bilingual (French–Dutch).

Josaphat Park (French: Parc Josaphat; Dutch: Josaphatpark) is an urban public park of 20 ha (49 acres) in the municipality of Schaerbeek in Brussels, Belgium. The hilly English-style park was designed between 1901 and 1904 by the landscape architect Edmond Galoppin, as part of an urban project including the Teniers-Josaphat district.

The park's outstanding feature is its string of ponds, fed by the Josaphat stream. Many rare trees (remnants of a botanical garden) and animals thrive in this urban environment. The municipal stadium that was formerly used by the football club K.V.V. Crossing Elewijt lies in the park's north-western corner. There is also a primary school (Chazal School), a tennis club (R.T.C. Lambermont), the municipal greenhouses, a petting zoo, two playgrounds, a minigolf course, an archery range, three guinguettes (La Laiterie, La Buvette Saint-Sebastiaan, and La Guinguette Populeir), a bandstand, a food kiosk (Josaphine's), and many sculptures adorn the park.
