A satellite city or satellite town is a smaller municipality or settlement that is part of (or on the edge of) a larger metropolitan area and serves as a regional population and employment center. It differs from mere suburbs, subdivisions and especially bedroom communities in that it has employment bases sufficient to support its residential population, and conceptually, could be a self-sufficient community outside of its larger metropolitan area. However, it functions as part of a metropolis and experiences high levels of cross-commuting (that is, residents commuting out of and employees commuting into the city).

Chornomorsk (Ukrainian: Чорноморськ, pronounced [tʃornoˈmɔrsʲk] ), formerly Illichivsk (Ukrainian: Іллічівськ), is a city in Odesa Raion, Odesa Oblast, south-western Ukraine, dependent on the Port of Chornomorsk. It hosts the administration of Chornomorsk urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. The city is located around the Sukhyi Estuary. Its population was given as 57,983 (2022 estimate).
Originally, the city was established as a satellite town of Odesa.

Satellite town in the context of Wrocław metropolitan area
The Wrocław metropolitan area is a monocentric agglomeration in the south-western part of Poland, in the Lower Silesian Voivodship, consisting of the city of Wrocław and its satellite towns. The population living in the agglomeration is about 1.25 million people.
In the case of the Wrocław agglomeration, its area is not strongly urbanized in its entirety. The agglomeration is defined as an area that is economically and geographically linked to Wrocław.
Satellite town in the context of Zagreb County
Zagreb County (Croatian: Zagrebačka županija) is a county in Northern Croatia. It surrounds, but does not contain, the nation's capital Zagreb, which is a separate territorial unit. For that reason, the county is often nicknamed "Zagreb ring" (Croatian: zagrebački prsten). According to the 2021 census, the county has 299,985 inhabitants, most of whom live in smaller urban satellite towns.
The Zagreb County once included the city of Zagreb, but in 1997 they separated, when the City was given a special status. Although separated from the city of Zagreb both administratively and territorially, it remains closely linked with it.
