Royal Liverpool University Hospital (RLUH) is a major teaching and research hospital located in the city of Liverpool, England. It is the largest and busiest hospital in Merseyside.
A major redevelopment of the hospital began in 2013 and was scheduled for completion in 2017, but construction problems and the 2018 collapse of main contractor Carillion meant it did not open until late 2022.
The Knowledge Quarter is an innovation district covering 450 acres of the Liverpool city centre, incorporating the vicinity around London Road, Islington, the Fabric District, Paddington Village and part of Canning.
The Knowledge Quarter contains a number of institutions that operate within the knowledge economy. Some of the institutions within the area include the University of Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores University, Royal Liverpool University Hospital, Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, Royal College of Physicians and various others across Liverpool Science Park and Paddington Village.
Sacred Heart Church is a Roman Catholic church in the centre of Liverpool, England, on the corner of Low Hill and the A57 next to the Royal Liverpool University Hospital. It is a Grade II listed building and was opened in 1886. It was designed by Goldie, Child & Goldie and has an altar piece by Pugin and Pugin.
