Rovenky (Ukrainian: Ровеньки; Russian: Ровеньки, romanizedRovenki) is a coal mining city in Rovenky Raion, Luhansk Oblast (region), Ukraine. Residence of Rovenky urban hromada. Prior to 2020, it was incorporated as a city of oblast significance. Population: 45,514 (2022 estimate); 47,852 (2013 est.). Including the surrounding villages, the total population is close to 84,000 (as of 2011).

Rovenky came under control of pro-Russian separatists in early 2014, and was incorporated into the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR). Since 2022, Russia has claimed the city as part of their LPR territory following its declared annexation of the region.

It was formally created in July 2020 as part of the reform of administrative divisions of Ukraine. The center of the raion is in the town of Rovenky. Population: 294,125 (2022 estimate). The area of the raion is controlled by Russia, which continues to use the old, pre-2020 administrative divisions of Ukraine.

Luhansk Oblast (Ukrainian: Луганська область, romanizedLuhanska oblast; Russian: Луганская область, romanizedLuganskaya oblast), also referred to as Luhanshchyna (Луганщина), is the easternmost oblast (province) of Ukraine.
