Republican Road I-6 (Bulgarian: Републикански път I-6) is a first class road in Bulgaria. It runs from Gyueshevo at the border with North Macedonia to Burgas on the Black Sea coast. With a total length of 508.5 km (316.0 mi), I-6 road is the longest road in Bulgaria. It is part of the European route E871 in the section Gyueshevo–Pernik and of the E773 in the stretch between the Petolachkata junction near Strazhitsa and Burgas. The road passes through nine of the 28 provinces of Bulgaria: Kyustendil, Pernik, Sofia City, Sofia, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Sliven, Yambol and Burgas.

Pernik Province is a province in western Bulgaria, neighbouring Serbia. Its main city is Pernik, and other municipalities are Breznik, Kovachevtsi, Radomir, Tran, and Zemen.

Breznik (Bulgarian: Брезник [ˈbrɛznik]) is a town in western Bulgaria, 50 km away from Sofia. It is located in Pernik Province and is close to the towns of Bankya and Pernik. Villages in the municipality include Begunovtsi, Dushintsi, and Velkovtsi.

The Struma Motorway (Bulgarian: Автомагистрала „Струма“, Avtomagistrala "Struma") is a motorway currently under construction in Bulgaria. The motorway is located in the Yugozapaden area in South West Bulgaria, and follows the route Sofia-Pernik-Dupnitsa-Blagoevgrad-Sandanski to Kulata on the border with in Greece. It is part of the Pan-European Corridor IV and also is part of Е79, that runs from Miskolc (Hungary) to Thessaloniki (Greece), via the Romanian cities of Deva and Craiova. This project is under the European Union's Ten-T Priority Projects. The road is also part of the proposed Via Carpatia route.

The Struma motorway forms a connection between Sofia and Kulata at the Bulgaria-Greece border with a total planned length of 172.8 km. As of February 2024, about 143km. of the motorway, from Sofia to Blagoevgrad, and from Kresna to Kulata have already been completed and are in service.
