People's Park (Chinese: 人民公园; pinyin: Rénmín Gōngyuán) is a public park in Huangpu District of central Shanghai. It is located south of Nanjing Road, a major shopping street, and north of People's Square. Originally the northern part of the Shanghai Race Club's race course, the park was created in 1952. With several major museums and Shanghai's main shopping street nearby, it is one of the top tourist destinations in the city.

The Shanghai Grand Theatre (Chinese: 上海大剧院; pinyin: Shànghǎi dà jùyuàn) is a complex located at the intersection of Renmin Avenue and Huangpi North Road in the northern part of the People's Square in the Huangpu District of Shanghai. The building houses the Shanghai Opera House and other performing companies.

The theatre was designed by French architect Jean-Marie Charpentier along with the Institute of Architectural Design of Eastern China. Since its opening on August 27, 1998, it has staged performances of operas, musicals, ballets, symphonies, chamber music, and Chinese operas.

The Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center (simplified Chinese: 上海城市规划展示馆; traditional Chinese: 上海城市規劃展示館; pinyin: Shànghǎi Chéngshì Guīhuà Zhǎnshì Guǎn) is located on People's Square, Shanghai, adjacent to the municipal government building. It was China's first city planning exhibition hall and similar halls later became common in major cities and new towns in China.
