Its administrative center is the urban locality (an urban-type settlement) of Mostovskoy. Population: 71,178 (2010 census); 72,660 (2002 census); 65,368 (1989 Soviet census). The population of Mostovskoy accounts for 35.2% of the district's total population.

It is located in the south of the republic and borders Giaginsky District in the north, Mostovsky District of Krasnodar Krai in the east, the territory of the City of Sochi in Krasnodar Krai in the south, Apsheronsky District of Krasnodar Krai in the west and southwest, and with Belorechensky District of Krasnodar Krai in the northwest. The area of the district is 3,667.43 square kilometers (1,416.00 sq mi). Its administrative center is the rural locality (a settlement) of Tulsky. As of the 2010 Census, the total population of the district was 58,439, with the population of Tulsky accounting for 18.4% of that number.

Adlersky city district (Russian: Адлерский район) is the southernmost of four city districts of the city of Sochi in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, lying along the Black Sea coast near the southern Russian border with Georgia. The city district borders Maykopsky District of Adygea in the north, Mostovsky District of Krasnodar Krai in the east, Abkhazia in the south, and Khostinsky city district in the northwest. In the southwest, it is bordered by the Black Sea. Population: 76,534 (2010 census); 69,120 (2002 census); 68,827 (1989 Soviet census). Adlersky District was chosen to host the 2014 Winter Olympics. The Mzymta is the largest river in Russia emptying into the Black Sea. It is 89 kilometres (55 mi) long with a watershed of 885 square kilometres (342 sq mi). All the venues of the 2014 Winter Olympics were in the Mzymta Valley.

It is located in the northern central portion of the republic and borders with Shovgenovsky District in the north, Koshekhablsky District in the east and northeast, Mostovsky District of Krasnodar Krai in the southeast, Maykopsky District in the south, and with Belorechensky District of Krasnodar Krai in the west. The area of the district is 756.54 square kilometers (292.10 sq mi). Its administrative center is the rural locality (a stanitsa) of Giaginskaya. As of the 2010 Census, the total population of the district was 31,766, with the population of Giaginskaya accounting for 44.5% of that number.
