Miraflores, founded as San Miguel de Miraflores, is a district of Lima Province, in Peru. A residential and upscale shopping district, it is one of the wealthiest districts that make up the city of Lima, located to the south of the city's historic downtown area, as well as one of its main tourist destinations. The area also hosts office buildings and flat-roofed multi-coloured housing.

It was established as a district on January 2, 1857. As a result of the January 1881 Battle of Miraflores fought during the War of the Pacific, Miraflores is called Ciudad Heroica ("Heroic City").

The Cono Sur or Lima Sur (South Lima in English) is one of the five areas that make up the Lima Metropolitan Area. It is located in the southern part of the metropolis hence its name. This socioeconomic levels of this district are varied. Most of the population however belongs to the lower and middle classes. But it is the area closest to the districts of the modern zone and residential areas like Miraflores, La Molina, Santiago de Surco, etc. Many of the residents belonging to these districts are immigrants from various regions of the country. As they settled there, some developed successful communities such as Villa El Salvador, while others still live in poor housing known as Pueblos jóvenes. The area is popular for its beaches, farms and factories in that population greatly increases during the summer months.

Jorge Chávez International Airport (IATA: LIM, ICAO: SPJC, SPIM) is the main international airport serving Lima, the capital of Peru. It is located in Callao, 11 kilometers (6.8 mi) northwest of the Historic Centre of Lima, the nation's capital city, and 17 kilometers (11 mi) from the district of Miraflores. In 2023, the airport served 22,876,785 passengers. Historically, the airport was the hub for Compañía de Aviación Faucett, which was the second oldest airline in the Americas, and Aeroperú, which served as Peru's flag carrier. Now it serves as a hub for many aviation companies. The airport was named after Peruvian aviator Jorge Chávez (1887–1910). It is among the busiest and largest airports in South America, providing international flights to North America, South America, Central America, the Caribbean and Europe, along with domestic flights in Peru.

In 2022, it entered the list of the 50 most important air hubs worldwide, occupying position number 47 after having been in position 58 in 2019 according to the international air statistics consultancy OAG. It is owned by the German transport company Fraport and operated by Lima Airport Partners.
