Lappas was the seat of the former municipality of Larissos. Metochi is located in the plains near the Ionian Sea coast, 5 km south of Araxos, 3 km southwest of Araxos Airport, 14 km west of Kato Achaia and 32 km west of Patras. The Prokopos lagoon, which is fed by the river Larissos, is 1 km north of Metochi. Lappas is on the Greek National Road 9 (Patras - Pyrgos) and on the railway from Patras to Pyrgos.

The Larissos (Greek: Λάρισσος, also Riolitiko, Latin: Larisus) is a river in the western part of Achaea, southern Greece. Its source is on the western slope of the mountain Movri, near the village of Mataragka. It flows through the Prokopos lagoon, and empties into the Ionian Sea in the village of Kalogria. Other villages along its course are Kagkadi, Apideonas and Lappas. Its entire course lies within the municipal unit Larissos, which took its name from the river. It is 19.5 km (12.1 mi) long.

Araxos (Greek: Άραξος, Latin: Araxus) is a village and community in Larissos municipal unit, within West Achaea, in northwestern Achaea, Greece. It is located about 29 km southwest of Patras. The community of Araxos consists of the villages of Araxos, Akrotirio Araxos, and Taxiarches. Araxos is located in the coastal plains near Cape Araxos, which separates the Gulf of Patras from the Ionian Sea.

The Prokopos lagoon is to the southwest of the Araxos village and Kalogria (or Pappas or Araxos) lagoon is to the north. Also to the north are the Mavra Vouna hills, with Cape Araxos as their northernmost point. Araxos is 4 km west of Lakkopetra, 1 km west of Araxos Airport, 5 km north of Metochi, and 13 km west of Kato Achaia.

Larissos (Greek: Λαρίσσος) is a former municipality in Achaea, West Greece, Greece. Since the local government reform in 2011, it a unit within the municipality West Achaea. The municipal unit has an area of 225.729 km. Its seat of administration was in the village Lappas, part of the community Metochi. The municipal unit was named after the river Larissos, which flows through it. It is the westernmost municipal unit of Achaea, stretching along the Ionian Sea coast and the border with Elis to the southern part of the Movri hills. It is about 32 km southwest of Patras and 50 km north of Pyrgos.

The area is mostly flat, except the Movri hills in the southeast and the lower Mavra Vouna hills in the northwest, near Cape Araxos. Araxos Airport (GPA).

Metochi, Larissos in the context of Apideonas

Apideonas (Greek: Απιδεώνας) is a village in the municipal unit of Larissos, in Achaea, Greece. It is located in the plains near the Ionian Sea, 3 km southeast of Lappas, 7 km northeast of Varda and 33 km southwest of Patras. The name comes from απιδιά (apidia) meaning "wild pear". The village was founded in 1924, when the government of Greece brought in forty families of refugees from Asia Minor. Before, the area was part of a royal estate.
