Magoula (Greek: ĪœĪ±Ī³ĪæĻĪ»Ī±) is a suburban town of Athens and former community (pop. 4,992 in 2011) of West Attica, located in the Thriasio Plain. Since the 2011 local government reform, it is part of the municipality Elefsina, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 18.134Ā km.

Magoula is located 2Ā km east of Mandra, 5Ā km north of Elefsina and 21Ā km northwest of central Athens. The municipal unit of MagoĆŗla also includes the village of NĆ©os Póntos. Magoula is served by a station on the Athens Airport–Patras railway. The A6 motorway runs southeast of the town.

Mandra in the context of Athens Airport–Patras railway

The railway from Athens Airport to Patras is a double-track, standard-gauge railway line in Greece that, when completed, will connect Athens International Airport with Patras, the country's third-largest city. One of the largest railway projects of the last 30 years in Greece, its completion is of major significance for the infrastructure of the entire region of the northern Peloponnese. As of 2020, the line is completed until the city of Aigio. A 5.2Ā km underground section is planned for the final section from Kastellokampos to Agios Andreas in Patras, terminating at the new port of Patras. For most of the section between Athens Airport in East Attica and Mandra in West Attica, the line runs along the median strip of the Attiki Odos motorway.

Mandra in the context of Mount Pateras

Pateras (Greek: Πατέρας) is a mountain of West Attica, Greece, with an elevation of 1,131 meters. Its highest peak is named Leontari. It is situated between the plain of Eleusis (Thriasian Plain) and the plain of Megara, and stretches between the Gulf of Corinth at Aigosthena and the Saronic Gulf near Eleusis. It is separated from its northern neighbour Cithaeron by the plain of Vilia. The mountain is covered with woods with Aleppo pine and Mediterranean maquis. In the tops of the mountain, that belong to a CORINE biotope, there are firs, of species Abies cephalonica.

Settlements around the mountain include Aigosthena to the northwest, Vilia to the north, Mandra to the east, Nea Peramos to the southeast, Megara to the south and Kato Alepochori to the west.
