Lefke District (Turkish: Lefke İlçesi) is a district of Northern Cyprus. Its capital is Lefka, also known by its Turkish name, Lefke. It had been a sub-district of the Güzelyurt District between 1998 (when that district was separated from the Lefkoşa District) and 27 December 2016. On 27 December 2016, the Assembly of the Republic unanimously voted to separate Lefke and make it the sixth district. Its population was recorded as 11,091 in the 2011 census, constituting 3.9% of the population of Northern Cyprus.

Erenköy (Kokkina) exclave is part of the district.

The Assembly of the Republic (Turkish: Cumhuriyet Meclisi) is the parliament of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. It has 50 members, elected for a five-year term by mitigated proportional representation. A party must cross the electoral threshold (5% of the total vote) to be awarded any seats. The parliament is composed of 50 MPs, chosen from six electoral districts, which are coterminous with the districts of Northern Cyprus: Lefkoşa, Gazimağusa, Girne, Güzelyurt, Lefke and İskele.

In Northern Cyprus parliamentary elections, voters vote for individual candidates. There are two ways of voting.

Lefke District in the context of Nicosia District

The Nicosia District, or simply Nicosia (also Lefkosia and Lefkoşa), is one of the six districts of Cyprus. Its main town is the island country's capital city, Nicosia. The de facto TRNC-controlled northern part of the district is the Lefkoşa District of the unrecognized Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

TRNC-controlled areas of the Larnaca District of the Republic of Cyprus are administered as part of Nicosia District, while western parts of the Nicosia District under de facto TRNC control are administered as part of the new Güzelyurt and Lefke Districts.

Lefke District in the context of Güzelyurt District

Güzelyurt District (Turkish: Güzelyurt İlçesi) is a district of Northern Cyprus. It consists only of the Güzelyurt sub-district. Its capital is Morphou, also known by its Turkish name, Güzelyurt. Its population was 30,590 in the 2011 census, but this included Lefka; with its current borders, its population was 18,946, constituting 6.6% of the population of Northern Cyprus. Its Governor is Menteş Gündüz.

Güzelyurt District was formed on 1 June 1998 via separation from Lefkoşa District. Lefke (Lefka) had been its second sub-district until 27 December 2016, when it was separated by a unanimous decision in the Assembly of the Republic to become the Lefke District, the sixth district of Northern Cyprus.
