Other towns in the district include Ratodero, Dokri, Bakrani, and Naodero. In 2005, the Government of Pakistan under Pervez Musharraf bifurcated the district, forming a new district called Qamber and Shahdadkot, with the two towns of Qambar Khan and Shahdadkot.

Larkana (Sindhi: لاڙڪانو, romanizedlāṛkāṇō; Urdu: لاڑکانہ, romanizedlāṛkāna) is a city located in the Sindh province of Pakistan. It is the 15th largest city of Pakistan by population. It is home to the Indus Valley civilization site Mohenjo-daro. The historic Indus River flows in east and south of the city.

The city is located within Larkana District. Formerly known as Chandka, Larkana is located on the south bank of the Ghar canal, about 40 miles (64 km) south of the town Shikarpur, and 36 miles (58 km) northeast of Mehar. With a population of 551,716 in the 2023 Census of Pakistan, it is the 4th most populated city of Sindh province (after Karachi, Hyderabad, and Sukkur), and the 19th most populated city in PAKISTAN.

Mohenjo-daro (/mˌhɛn ˈdɑːr/; Sindhi: موهن جو دڙو, lit.'Mound of the Dead Men'; Urdu: موئن جو دڑو [muˑənⁱ dʑoˑ d̪əɽoˑ]) is an archaeological site in Larkana District, Sindh, Pakistan. Built c. 2500 BCE, it was one of the largest settlements of the ancient Indus Valley Civilisation, and one of the world's earliest major cities, contemporaneous with the civilisations of ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, Minoan Crete, and Norte Chico.

With an estimated population of at least 40,000 people, Mohenjo-daro prospered for several centuries, but by c. 1700 BCE had been abandoned, along with other large cities of the Indus Valley Civilisation.

Larkana District in the context of Ratodero

Ratodero (Sindhi: رتوديرو) is the capital of Ratodero Taluka, a sub-division of Larkana District in the Sindh province of Pakistan. Situated some 28 km from the district capital Larkana. Since the independence of Pakistan, the city is known for its sweet products and handmade caps known as Sindhi topi. At present the principal trade of the town is that of paddy and rice, with many rice mills located here.

Larkana District in the context of Bakrani

Bakrani (Sindhi: باڪراڻي) is a town in Larkana District, Sindh province of Pakistan. This town is situated at a distance of 11  km south of Larkana city and a distance of 17km north of Mohan-Jo-Daro on the LarkanaMohenjo-daro road. It has an altitude of 53 meters and is the headquarters of Bakrani Taluka. Bakrani was the taluka headquarters of Lab-e-Daryah taluka. More than 70% of peoples are depending on farming, paddy is main crop and coarse varieties are being cultivated and the main income source of the people of the area is based on agriculture, Dadu Canal and Rice Canal are the main source of irrigation in the area, Dadu Canal flows throughout the year whereas Rice Canal flows only in Kharif season.

There are girls and boys primary and high schools in the town. There is a basic health unit to provide health facilities to the people of the town. There is a PTCL exchange that provides telephone connections to Bakrani and also neighboring villages. There are the main bazaar and a vegetable market in the center of the town. There is also a rice mill and ice factory in the town.

Larkana District in the context of Naodero

Naudero, also spelled Naundero, Nodero (Sindhi: نئون ديرو, Urdu: نوڈیرو) is a town and union council of Ratodero Taluka in the Larkana District, Sindh, Pakistan. The union council also includes the village of Garhi Khuda Bakhsh. It lies to the northwest of the district capital Larkana, connected by road. Irrigated by canals, the area is noted for its rice production. A sugar mill has been constructed in the area, funded by the Chinese. Asif Zardari held a press conference in the town two days after Benazir Bhutto's murder, accusing the Pakistan Muslim League (Q) party leadership of people responsible for her murder.Her grave and that of her father's Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto are located in Naudero.
