Kirovsky District, Leningrad Oblast in the context of "Vsevolozhsky District"

The Saint Petersburg metropolitan area is a metropolitan area that is centered around Saint Petersburg. It includes the entire territory of the federal city of Saint Petersburg and part of the territory of Leningrad Oblast. The metropolitan area extends for about 50 km (31 mi) from the center of Saint Petersburg.

The population of the Saint Petersburg metropolitan area is approximately 6.4 million people of the urbanized population (including St. Petersburg, Vsevolozhsky, most of Gatchinsky and Lomonosovsky Districts, and part of Kirovsky and Tosnensky Districts of Leningrad Oblast), and the remaining parts of the above municipal districts of Leningrad Oblast, including the Sosnovy Bor, whose area is approximately 12.6 thousand km². It is the second largest metropolitan area in Russia after Moscow.

Shlisselburg (Russian: Шлиссельбу́рг, IPA: [ʂlʲɪsʲɪlʲˈburk]; German: Schlüsselburg; Finnish: Pähkinälinna; Swedish: Nöteborg), formerly Oreshek (Орешек) (1323–1611) and Petrokrepost (Петрокрепость) (1944–1992), is a town in Kirovsky District, Leningrad Oblast, Russia, located at the head of the Neva River on Lake Ladoga, 35 kilometers (22 mi) east of St. Petersburg. Population: 13,170 (2010 census); 12,401 (2002 census); 12,589 (1989 Soviet census).

The Shlisselburg Fortress and the town center are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Kirovsk (Russian: Ки́ровск) is a town and the administrative center of Kirovsky District in Leningrad Oblast, Russia, located on the left bank of the Neva River, 33 kilometers (21 mi) east of St. Petersburg. Population: 25,650 (2010 census); 24,361 (2002 census); 23,655 (1989 Soviet census).

Otradnoye (Russian: Отра́дное) is a town in Kirovsky District of Leningrad Oblast, Russia, located 40 kilometers (25 mi) east of St. Petersburg on the left bank of the Neva River, at its confluence with the Tosna River. Population: 23,866 (2010 census); 21,570 (2002 census); 22,386 (1989 Soviet census).

Tosnensky District (Russian: То́сненский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the seventeen in Leningrad Oblast, Russia. It is located in the central southwestern part of the oblast and borders with Kirovsky District in the north, Kirishsky District in the east, Chudovsky District of Novgorod Oblast in the southeast, Novgorodsky District of Novgorod Oblast in the south, Luzhsky District in the southwest, Gatchinsky District in the west, and Pushkinsky and Kolpinsky Districts of the federal city of Saint Petersburg in the northwest. The area of the district is 3,585.4 square kilometers (1,384.3 sq mi). Its administrative center is the town of Tosno. Population (excluding the administrative center): 83,898 (2010 census); 77,194 (2002 Census); 78,500 (1989 Soviet census).
