The Tuvan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (Russian: Π’ΡΠ²ΠΈΠ½ΡΠΊΠ°Ρ ΠΠ²ΡΠΎΠ½ΠΎΠΌΠ½Π°Ρ Π‘ΠΎΠ²Π΅ΡΡΠΊΠ°Ρ Π‘ΠΎΡΠΈΠ°Π»ΠΈΡΡΠΈΡΠ΅ΡΠΊΠ°Ρ Π Π΅ΡΠΏΡΠ±Π»ΠΈΠΊΠ°; Tuvan: Π’ΡΠ²Π° ΠΠ²ΡΠΎΠ½ΠΎΠΌΠ½ΡΠ³ Π‘ΠΎΠ²Π΅Ρ Π‘ΠΎΡΠΈΠ°Π»ΠΈΡΡΠΈΠ³ Π Π΅ΡΠΏΡΠ±Π»ΠΈΠΊΠ°), or the Tuvan ASSR (Russian: Π’ΡΠ²ΠΈΠ½ΡΠΊΠ°Ρ ΠΠ‘Π‘Π ; Tuvan: Π’ΡΠ²Π° ΠΠ‘Π‘Π ), was an autonomous republic of the Russian SFSR. It was created on 10 October 1961 from the Tuvan Autonomous Oblast. Its territory measured 175,000 square kilometers and bordered Mongolia to the south, Buryat ASSR to the east, Gorno-Altai Autonomous Oblast to the west and Khakas Autonomous Oblast to the north.
