Brentwood is a hamlet in the Town of Islip in Suffolk County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. The population was 62,387 at the 2020 Census, making it the most populous CDP in Suffolk County and on all of Long Island outside of New York City.

Riverhead is a census-designated place (CDP) roughly corresponding to the hamlet by the same name located in the Town of Riverhead in Suffolk County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. The CDP's population was 13,299 at the 2010 census.

Situated at the mouth of the Peconic River, which empties into Peconic Bay where the North and South Forks of Long Island split, the town of Riverhead (of which the CDP is a part) is the official county seat of Suffolk County. In the 1960s, most of the county offices moved to the CDP of Hauppauge in the towns of Islip and Smithtown in the more populous western half of the county—a move which still spurs attempts for the town of Riverhead to lead the way for the secession of eastern Long Island towns to form Peconic County.

Captree is a census-designated place (CDP) in the towns of Islip and Babylon in Suffolk County, New York, United States. It occupies Captree Island in Great South Bay, as well as the east end of Jones Beach Island to the south, comprising Captree State Park. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census. Prior to that it was part of the Oak Beach–Captree CDP.

The community is in southwestern Suffolk County, on two islands that lie between Long Island to the north and Fire Island to the south. The eastern two-thirds of the CDP are in the town of Islip, while the one-third of the CDP that occupies the portion of Captree Island west of the Robert Moses Causeway is in the town of Babylon. The Robert Moses Causeway connects Captree and Jones Beach islands with West Islip, 6 miles (10 km) to the north on Long Island. Ocean Parkway runs west from Captree through Oak Beach and Gilgo, leading 14 miles (23 km) to Jones Beach State Park. To the south, the Fire Island Inlet Bridge leads 1 mile (1.6 km) to Robert Moses State Park on Fire Island.

Saltaire is a village on Fire Island in the Town of Islip, in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The year-round population was 113 at the time of the 2020 census, which, as a summer beach community, increases many times over in the summer.

Ocean Beach is a village in the southern part of the Town of Islip, on Fire Island, within Suffolk County, New York, United States. The population was 153 at the time of the 2020 census. Known for its strict local ordinances, the village is nicknamed "The Land of No".

The Incorporated Village of Ocean Beach is a popular tourist destination, due to its beachfront location accompanied by a commercial district featuring nightlife, hotels, waterfront restaurants, and a variety of stores.

Sayville is a hamlet and census-designated place in Suffolk County, New York, United States. Located on the South Shore of Long Island in the Town of Islip, the population of the CDP was 16,569 at the time of the 2020 census.
