Indiana University (IU) is a system of public universities in the U.S. state of Indiana. The system has two core campuses and five regional campuses, as well as two regional centers under Indiana University Indianapolis. The system's flagship campus is Indiana University Bloomington.

The Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering is an academic unit of Indiana University located on the Indiana University Bloomington (IUB) campus and on the Indiana University Indianapolis (IUI) campus. On the Bloomington campus, the school consists of the Department of Informatics, the Department of Computer Science, the Department of Information and Library Science, and the Department of Intelligent Systems Engineering. On the Indianapolis campus, the school consists of the Department of Human-Centered Computing, the Department of BioHealth Informatics, and the Department of Library and Information Science.

The Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) is a major, multi-campus medical school located throughout the U.S. state of Indiana and is both the undergraduate and graduate medical school of Indiana University. There are nine campuses throughout the state; the principal research, educational, and medical center is located on the campus of Indiana University Indianapolis. With 1,448 MD students, 191 PhD students, and 1,438 residents and fellows in the 2024–25 academic year, IUSM is the largest medical school in the United States. The school offers many joint degree programs including an MD/PhD Medical Scientist Training Program. It has partnerships with Purdue University's Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering, other Indiana University system schools, and various in-state external institutions. It is the medical school with the largest number of graduates licensed in the United States per a 2018 Federation of State Medical Boards survey with 11,828 licensed physicians.

The school has pioneered research in multiple specialties, including oncology, immunology, substance use, neuroscience, and endocrinology. Research discoveries include a curative therapy for testicular cancer, the development of echocardiography, the identification of several genes linked to Alzheimer's disease, and the creation of inner ear sensory cells from pluripotent stem cells.

Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) was a joint campus of Indiana University and Purdue University in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States, from 1969 to 2024, offering undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees from both universities. In 2024, IUPUI was split into two separate campuses, namely Indiana University Indianapolis and Purdue University in Indianapolis.

Administered primarily through Indiana University as a core campus and secondarily through Purdue University as a regional campus, it was Indiana's primary urban research and academic health sciences institution. IUPUI was located in downtown Indianapolis along the White River and Fall Creek.

Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law (IU McKinney) is the law school of Indiana University Indianapolis, a public research university in Indianapolis, Indiana. The school has been based in Lawrence W. Inlow Hall in Indianapolis since 2001. IU McKinney is one of two law schools operated by Indiana University, the other being the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington. Although both law schools are part of Indiana University, each law school is wholly independent of the other.

According to IU McKinney's 2019 ABA-required disclosures, 59% of the Class of 2018 obtained full-time, long-term, J.D.-required employment within ten months after graduation. IU McKinney counts among its alumni those in politics, public service, and the judiciary, including two United States Vice Presidents (Dan Quayle and Mike Pence) and numerous Indiana senators, representatives, and governors.
