Paxos (Greek: Παξός) is a Greek island in the Ionian Sea, lying just south of Corfu. As a group with the nearby island of Antipaxos and adjoining islets, it is also called by the plural form Paxi or Paxoi (Greek: Παξοί, pronounced /pækˈsiː/ in English and [paˈksi] in Greek). The main town and the seat of the municipality is Gaios. The smallest of the seven main Ionian Islands (the Heptanese), Paxos has an area of 25.3 square kilometres (9.8 sq mi), while the municipality has an area of 30.121 km (11.630 sq mi) and a population of about 2,500.

Paxos lies some 15 km from the southern tip of Corfu and at about the same distance from the town of Parga on the mainland. It is connected by ferry lines from Igoumenitsa and Corfu with Gaios. The island is hilly, the highest point having an elevation of 230 m.

Ioannina (Greek: Ιωάννινα Ioánnina [i.oˈa.ni.na] ), often called Yannena (Γιάννενα Yánnena [ˈʝa.ne.na]) within Greece, is the capital and largest city of the Ioannina regional unit and of Epirus, an administrative region in northwestern Greece.

According to the 2021 census, the city population was 64,896 while the municipality had 113,978 inhabitants. It lies at an elevation of approximately 500 metres (1,640 feet) above sea level, on the western shore of Lake Pamvotis (Παμβώτις). Ioannina is located 410 km (255 mi) northwest of Athens, 260 kilometres (162 miles) southwest of Thessaloniki and 80 km (50 miles) east of the port of Igoumenitsa on the Ionian Sea.

The A2 motorway, also known as the Egnatia Odos (Greek: Εγνατία Οδός), is a tolled controlled-access highway in northern Greece that runs from the western port of Igoumenitsa to the eastern Greek–Turkish border at Kipoi. The entire route is part of the Greek section of the E90 road, which runs from Lisbon, Portugal in the west, and Zakho, Iraq in the east.

The A2 motorway runs a total of 670 km (420 mi). The megaproject began in 1994 and was completed in 2009 at a cost of €5.93 billion ($8.27 billion); it was managed by the state-owned company Egnatia Odos, S.A.

Parga (Greek: Πάργα, Párga, pronounced [ˈpaɾɣa]) is a town and municipality located in the northwestern part of the regional unit of Preveza in Epirus, northwestern Greece. The seat of the municipality is the village Kanallaki. Parga lies on the Ionian coast between the cities of Preveza and Igoumenitsa. It is a resort town known for its natural environment.

Thesprotia (/θɛsˈproʊʃə/; Greek: Θεσπρωτία, pronounced [θesproˈtia]) is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the Epirus region. Its capital and largest town is Igoumenitsa. Thesprotia is named after the Thesprotians, an ancient Greek tribe that inhabited the region in antiquity.

Chasia (Greek: Χάσια) is a forested mountain range in the northern Trikala (Thessaly) and the southern Grevena (Western Macedonia) regional units, northern Greece. It is an eastern extension of the Pindus mountain range. The elevation of its highest peak, Kratsovo, is 1,564 m (5,131 ft). It stretches from the village Korydallos in the west to Kerasoula in the east, over a length of about 35 km (22 mi). The nearest mountains are the Antichasia to the south, the Kamvounia to the northeast and the Lygkos (northern Pindus) to the west. It is drained by tributaries of the Aliakmonas to the north, and by the Pineios and its tributary Mourgkani to the south.

Two municipal units were named after the mountains: Chasia, Grevena and Chasia, Trikala. Villages in the Chasia mountains include Kakoplevri and Oxyneia in the west, Agiofyllo, Trikokkia and Achladea Skiti in the central part and Asprokklisia and Kerasoula in the east. The A2 Egnatia Odos motorway (Igoumenitsa - Ioannina - Kozani - Thessaloniki) runs west of the mountains, and the Greek National Road 15 (Kalambaka - Grevena - Kastoria) passes through the central part of the mountains.
