Poltava (UK: /pɒlˈtɑːvə/, US: /pəlˈ-/; Ukrainian: Полтава, IPA: [polˈtɑwɐ] ) is a city located on the Vorskla River in Central Ukraine. It serves as the administrative center of Poltava Oblast as well as Poltava Raion within the oblast. It also hosts the administration of Poltava urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Poltava has a population of 279,593 (2022 estimate).

Dnipro is Ukraine's fourth-largest city, with about one million inhabitants. It is located in the eastern part of Ukraine, 391 km (243 mi) southeast of the Ukrainian capital Kyiv on the Dnipro River, from which it takes its name. Dnipro is the administrative centre of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. It hosts the administration of Dnipro urban hromada. Dnipro has a population of 968,502 (2022 estimate).

Archeological evidence suggests the site of the present city was settled by Cossack communities from at least 1524. Yekaterinoslav ("glory of Catherine") was established by decree of the Russian Empress Catherine the Great in 1787 as the administrative center of Novorossiya. From the end of the 19th century, the town attracted foreign capital and an international, multi-ethnic workforce exploiting Kryvbas iron ore and Donbas coal.

There are 1,469 hromadas (Ukrainian: територіальна громада, romanized: terytorialna hromada, lit. 'territorial community') in Ukraine. They were formed in 2020 (there are no hromadas in Kyiv, Sevastopol and in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea). A hromada is designated urban hromada if its administration is located in a city; settlement hromada if it is located in a rural settlement (selyshche), and rural hromada if it is located in a selo.

The administrative divisions of Ukraine (Ukrainian: Адміністративний устрій України, romanized: Administratyvnyi ustrii Ukrainy [ɐd⁽ʲ⁾min⁽ʲ⁾istrɐˈtɪu̯nɪj ˈust⁽ʲ⁾r⁽ʲ⁾ij ʊkrɐˈjinɪ]) are under the jurisdiction of the Ukrainian Constitution. The administrative reform of July 2020 merged most of the 490 legacy raions and 118 pre-2020 cities of regional significance into 136 reorganized raions, or districts of Ukraine. The next level below raions are hromadas.

Pereiaslav is a historical city in Boryspil Raion, Kyiv Oblast, central Ukraine. It is located near the confluence of the Alta and Trubizh rivers some 95 km (59.03 mi) southeast of the capital Kyiv. It was one of the key regional centers of power during the Middle Ages and served as the capital of a principality. Pereiaslav hosts the administration of Pereiaslav urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Its population is approximately 26,273 (2022 estimate).

Possessing more than 20 museums, Pereiaslav is often described as a "living museum", and was granted the status of Historical and Ethnographic Reserve [uk].

Lviv urban territorial hromada (Ukrainian: Львівська міська територіальна громада, romanized: Lvivska miska terytorialna hromada) is a hromada (municipality) in Ukraine's Lviv Oblast, in Lviv Raion. The hromada's administrative centre is the city of Lviv.

The area of the hromada is 311.4 square kilometres (120.2 sq mi), and the population is 777,234 (2022 estimate).

Halych (Ukrainian: Галич, IPA: [ˈɦɑlɪtʃ]; Romanian: Halici; Polish: Halicz; Russian: Галич, romanized: Galich; German: Halytsch, Halitsch or Galitsch; Yiddish: העליטש, romanized: Heylitsh) is a historic city on the Dniester River in western Ukraine. The city gave its name to the Principality of Halych, the historic province of Galicia (Halychyna), and the Kingdom of Galicia–Volhynia, of which it was the capital until the early 14th century, when the seat of the local rulers moved to Lviv.

Nowadays, Halych is a small town located only on one part of the territory of the former Galician capital, although it has preserved its name. It belongs to Ivano-Frankivsk Raion (district) of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast (region). It hosts the administration of Halych urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Halych lies 26 km (16 mi) north of the oblast capital, Ivano-Frankivsk. Population: 6,086 (2022 estimate).

Belz (Ukrainian: Белз, IPA: [bɛlz] ; Polish: Bełz; Yiddish: בעלז) is a small city in Lviv Oblast, western Ukraine, located near the border with Poland between the Solokiya River (a tributary of the Bug River) and the Richytsia stream. Belz hosts the administration of Belz urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Its population is approximately 2,191 (2022 estimate).

Poltava urban territorial hromada (Ukrainian: Полтавська міська територіальна громада, romanized: Poltavska miska terytorialna hromada) is one of the hromadas of Ukraine, located in Poltava Raion, Poltava Oblast. Its administrative centre is the city of Poltava.

The hromada has a total area of 550.3 km (212.5 sq mi), and a population of 638,519 (as of 2023).
