Ghbaleh (Arabic: غبالة, also spelled Ghebaleh) is a village and municipality in the Keserwan District of the Keserwan-Jbeil Governorate in central Lebanon. It is located 42 kilometers northeast of Beirut. Its average elevation is 890 meters above sea level and its total land area consists of 271 hectares. The village is bordered by the villages of Ghineh, Jouret El Termos, Azra, Jouret Bedran and Nahr El Dahab.

Ghbaleh in the context of Jabal Moussa Biosphere Reserve

Jabal Moussa Biosphere Reserve (Arabic: محمية جبل موسى للمحيط الحيوي) is a nature reserve located in the Keserwan District of Lebanon, on the shoulders of the western slopes of Mount Lebanon overlooking the Mediterranean Sea to the West. It covers an area of 6500 hectares, at an altitude ranging between 350 meters in the North-West and 1,700 meters to the South-East. Its main villages are: Yahchouch, Qahmez, Jouret el-Termos, Nahr ed Dahab, Ghbaleh, Ebreh, and Chouwan. Jabal Moussa and surrounding villages became part of the UNESCO Network of Biosphere Reserves under the Man and Biosphere (MAB) program in 2009. As part of the MAB program, JMBR addresses human livelihood improvement and nature conservation through combining natural sciences with social sciences, economics and education.

The Jabal Moussa mountain presents an exceptionally rich biodiversity, with more than 724 flora species, 25 mammal species, and more than 137 migratory and soaring birds species. In 2009, Jabal Moussa was designated a Globally Important Bird Area. Equally rich with cultural heritage, it portrays the interdependence of Man and Nature throughout history through various spiritual and historical sites dating back from the Phoenician, Roman, and Ottoman Periods.

Ghbaleh in the context of Azra wa el-Azr

Azra ou el-Azr (Arabic: العذرا والعذر; also spelled Aazra ouel Aazr or simply Azra) is a municipality located in the Keserwan District of the Keserwan-Jbeil Governorate in Lebanon.

The municipality, which consists of the villages of Azra and el-Azr, is about 39 kilometres (24 mi) north of Beirut. It has an average elevation of 750 meters above sea level, a total land area of 113 hectares and is bordered by the villages of Zaaitreh, Zeitoun, Mradiyeh, Jouret Bedran and Ghbaleh.

Jouret Bedran (Arabic: جورة بدران; also spelled Jurat Badran) is a village and municipality located in the Keserwan District of the Keserwan-Jbeil Governorate in Lebanon. The village is 50 kilometres (31 mi) north of Beirut. It has an average elevation of 1200 meters above sea level and a total land area of 120 hectares. The village is bordered by the villages of Yahchouch, Ghbaleh, Azra, Mradiyeh and Hakl El Rayes. Jouret Bedran's inhabitants are Maronites.
