The Genil River is the main (left) tributary of the river Guadalquivir in Andalusia, Spain. Known as Singilis in Latin, its modern name derives from the Moorish rendering of the Roman name: Sinyil, Sannil, and Sinnil.

Ascribed to the Vega de Granada comarca, the city sits at an average elevation of 738 m (2,421 ft) above sea level, yet is only one hour by car from the Mediterranean coast, the Costa Tropical. With a population of 233,532 as of 2024, it is the 20th-largest city in Spain.

The Darro is a river of the province of Granada, Spain. It is a tributary of the Genil. The river was originally named after the Roman word for gold (aurus) because people used to pan for gold on its banks. This name was then changed by the Arabs to Hadarro and after being renamed Dauro by the Christians, it finally became known as Darro.Darro is also the name of a local town.
There are five bridges crossing the Darro: Puente del Aljibillo (Bridge of the Cistern), Puente de las Chirimias (Bridge of the Pipers), Puente de Cabrera (16th century), Puente de Espinosa (16th century). The Darro river supplied water to the Alhambra through a system of aqueducts called 'Acequia Real'.

The Monachil River is a river in the province of Granada, Spain. It is a tributary of the Genil. The river receives its name from the municipality Monachil, which the river passes through.
The river has a route of about 26.5 km, and is born at the peak of Veleta, at an altitude of 2,640 meters. The Monachil river is characterised by the predominance of grassland and scrub without trees above its 750 m elevation. The thicket is made up of several species, including Genista, Crataegus, Rosa, Berberis, Lavandula, Salvia, Juniperus, Cistus, Ruscus, and Rosmarinus, accompanied by various herbaceous plants.
