Fraga (Spanish: [ˈfɾaɣa] ; Catalan: [ˈfɾaɣɛ]) is the main town of the comarca of Bajo Cinca (Catalan: Baix Cinca) in the province of Huesca, Aragon, Spain. It is located by the river Cinca. According to the 2014 census, the municipality has a population of 14,926.
King Alfonso I of Aragon died at its walls in 1134 while trying to capture it during the Battle of Fraga. It was eventually taken from the Moors by the Count Ramon Berenguer IV of Barcelona in 1149.

The siege of Lleida (Lérida, Lārida) by a Catalan army led by Count Ramon Berenguer IV of Barcelona lasted from the spring of 1149 until 24 October, when the Almoravid garrison surrendered on terms, which also included the surrender of the nearby towns of Fraga and Mequinenza (Miknāsa).
James II (in Catalan Jaume II d'Urgell or Jaume el Dissortat ("James the unlucky"), in Spanish Jaime II el desafortunado) (1380 – 1 June 1433) was the Count of Urgell (1408–1413), Viscount of Àger, and lord of Antillón, Alcolea de Cinca, and Fraga. Scion of a younger branch of the House of Barcelona and its last male member, he was the centre of opposition to the House of Trastámara after it succeeded to the Crown of Aragon in 1412.
Born at Balaguer to Peter II of Urgell and Margaret Palaiologue of Montferrat, James inherited the county of Urgell from his father in 1408. In Valencia on 29 June 1407, he had married Isabella, daughter of Peter IV of Aragon, who appointed him lieutenant of the Kingdom of Aragon in 1408.

This comarca is located in the southeastern corner of the Huesca province.The administrative capital is Fraga, with 13,592 inhabitants the largest town of the comarca.
The Battle of Fraga was a battle of the Spanish Reconquista that took place on 17 July 1134 at Fraga, Aragon, Spain. The battle was fought between the combined forces of King Alfonso I of Aragon and Viscount Centule VI of Béarn, and a variety of Almoravid forces that had come to the aid of the town of Fraga which was being besieged by King Alfonso I. The battle resulted in an Almoravid victory. The Aragonese monarch Alfonso I died shortly after the battle.
