East Melbourne in the context of "Melbourne Sports and Entertainment Precinct"

Yarra Park (35.469 hectares) is a public park that is part of the Melbourne Sports and Entertainment Precinct, a sporting precinct in Victoria, Australia. Located in Yarra Park is the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and numerous sporting fields and ovals, including the associated sporting complexes of Melbourne and Olympic Parks. The park and sporting facilities are located in the inner-suburb of East Melbourne. In the late 1850s, many of the earliest games of Australian rules football were played at Yarra Park, which was known at the time as the Richmond Paddock.

Tree-lined paths run parallel to Punt Road and Swan Street, and criss-cross the park. Some of the lawns are used for parking for sporting events. Three footbridges allow pedestrians and cyclists to cross the railway lines to the different sporting venues and easy access to the Yarra River Trail.

It serves the inner-eastern suburb of East Melbourne, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Jolimont station is a ground-level premium station, featuring two side platforms. It opened on 21 October 1901.

Jolimont is one of two stations that are close to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), the other being Richmond. During events at the MCG, extra exit gates are open to reduce crowding.

Operated by Yarra Trams, the route is coloured black and extends from North Balwyn to Victoria Harbour over 13.5-kilometre (8.4 mi) of double track via Kew East, Kew, Hawthorn, Richmond and East Melbourne. It is serviced out of Kew depot utilising A and C class trams.
