Bushehr Province (Persian: استان بوشهر) is one of the 31 provinces of Iran. It is in the south of the country, with a long coastline on the Persian Gulf. Its capital is the city of Bushehr.

The province was made a part of Region 2 upon the division of the provinces into five regions, solely for coordination and development purposes, on 22 June 2014.

Fars Province, in Persian Ostâne Fârs, historically known outside of Iran as Persia proper, is one of the 31 provinces of Iran. Its capital is the city of Shiraz.

Pars province has an area of 122,400 km and is located in Iran's southwest, in Region 2. It neighbours the provinces of Bushehr to the west, Hormozgan to the south, Kerman and Yazd to the east, Isfahan to the north, and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad to the northwest.

Bushehr province in the context of Bakhtiari people

The Bakhtiari (also spelled Bakhtiyari; Persian:بختیاری) are a Lur tribe from Iran. They speak the Bakhtiari dialect of the Luri language.

Bakhtiaris primarily inhabit Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari and eastern Khuzestan, Lorestan, Bushehr, and Isfahan provinces. Bakhtiari tribes have an especially large population concentration in the cities of Masjed Soleyman, Izeh, Shahr-e Kord, and Andika, and the surrounding villages.

Fars territory or Ancient Persia (Persian: سرزمین فارس یا پارس کهن, in Old Persian: 𐎱𐎠𐎼𐎿 (Pārsa)) in the southern part of Iran leading to the Persian Gulf, which has historical, continental, cultural and especially dialectal commonalities and includes the provinces of Khuzestan, Fars, Esfahan, Bushehr, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Hormozgan and Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari and the western part of Kerman province, which is known as the origin of Persian language and inherited from Middle Persian. The Cyrus the Great founded Satrap of Persia (in place of present-day Marvdasht, north of Fars province), then he moved Achaemenid Empire capital to Susa.
