The Magen David Adom (Hebrew: ××× ××× ××××, abbr. MDA, pronounced MAH-dah per its Hebrew acronym, ××ד×) is Israel's national emergency medical, disaster, ambulance and blood bank service. The literal meaning of the name is "Red Shield of David," but the symbol is more frequently called the "Red Star of David" in many languages. Since June 2006, Magen David Adom has been officially recognized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) as the national aid society of the State of Israel under the Geneva Conventions, and a member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. MDA has a dedicated medical emergency phone number in Israel, 101.MDA can become an auxiliary arm of theĀ Israel Defense ForcesĀ during times of war. In 2022, MDA became academically affiliated with Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Following the October 7th attacks against Israel, the American Red Cross presented Magen David Adom with the International Humanitarian Service Award stating that the organization "exemplifies and inspires the humanitarian values of human dignity, respect, [and] compassion."

Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in the context of Benny Morris
Benny Morris (Hebrew: ×× × ×××Ø××”; born 8 December 1948) is an Israeli historian. He was a professor of history in the Middle East Studies department of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in the city of Beersheba, Israel. Morris was initially associated with the group of Israeli historians known as the "New Historians", a term he coined to describe himself and historians Avi Shlaim, Ilan PappĆ© and Simha Flapan.
Morris's 20th century work on the ArabāIsraeli conflict and especially the IsraeliāPalestinian conflict has won praise and criticism from both sides of the political divide. Despite regarding himself as a Zionist, he writes, "I embarked upon the research not out of ideological commitment or political interest. I simply wanted to know what happened." One of Morris's major works is the 1989 book The Birth of the Palestinian Refugee Problem, 1947ā1948 which, based on then recently declassified Israeli archives, demonstrated that the 1948 exodus of Palestinian refugees was in large part a response to deliberate expulsions and violence by forces loyal to Israel, rather than the result of orders by Arab commanders as had often been historically claimed.

Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in the context of National Solar Energy Center
The Ben-Gurion National Solar Energy Center at Midreshet Ben-Gurion is the national alternative energy research institute of Israel. It was established in 1987 by the Ministry of National Infrastructures to study promising alternative and clean energy technologies, particularly those involving solar power. Since July 1991, the center has been operated by Ben-Gurion University of the Negev's Jacob Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research. Its director is David Faiman.
In 2007, it was announced that the center was collaborating with Zenith Solar to create a home system of solar cells based on technological research conducted under Faiman.
