TriviaQuestions.online (formerly Wiki2Web.com) is a free trivia questions and quizzes platform featuring a suite of powerful tools. It is designed for trivia players who either want to simply discover random trivia facts about the world, students who want to study contextual aspects of a topic, and for educators to create quizzes. Everyone is welcome to explore the facts captured from Wikipedia API (authenticated), and create comprehensive teaching materials from Wikipedia articles.

Is this site completely free to use?

Yes, 100%. All tools and features on the site, from playing random trivia quizzes to using the advanced Teacher's Authoring Studio, are completely free. We do not require payment or subscriptions.

Do I need to create an account?

No. The site is frictionless.

Where does the content for quizzes and materials come from?

Our content foundation is curated and sourced directly from Wikipedia using their authenticated API. To create dynamic questions, explanations, and other supplemental content, we use powerful AI models like Google's Gemma 3 27B. I (the webmaster) play around on the site regularly and welcome feedback and corrections if needed.

How can I use the content from this site?

All content is licensed under the Creative Commons CC BY-SA 4.0 license. This means you are free to share, adapt, and use the material for any purpose (including commercial use), as long as you provide appropriate attribution with a link to TriviaQuestions.online and share any derivative works under the same license.

How do I report an incorrect answer or content error?

We strive for complete accuracy, but errors can happen. If you find one, please use our corporate Contact page to send us a link to the specific quiz or page and describe the issue. We appreciate the help!

What is "Trivia Questions Single Trivia Question Mode"?

Single Trivia Question Mode is designed for deep learning, not competition. It presents one trivia question at a time along with contextually relevant summaries from Wikipedia. Key information is highlighted to help you explore topics without the pressure of a timer or score. To us, it is like a fact checker mode.

How does the "Random Trivia Questions Quiz" work?

This tool loads a random, topic-based quiz with up to 20 questions. It's a quick and fun way to test your knowledge on a variety of subjects. After completion, you get an instant score. The quiz pages also offer free printable PDF options for both the quiz and its answer key, and the ability to download the quiz with one click for easy sharing or posting on your blog (please remember to give attribution and we may even link back if you contact us!).

The AI-Powered Generator Suite

How can I create my own quizzes and teaching materials?

Our "wiki to quiz" tool uses a unique "Bring Your Own AI" (BYO-AI) system to generate materials. It's a three-step process:

1. Provide a URL: You paste any Wikipedia article URL into our tool.
2. Generate a "MegaPrompt": Our engine analyzes the article and creates a highly detailed, specialized set of instructions for an AI. You copy this MegaPrompt.
3. Use an External AI: You paste the MegaPrompt into a powerful, free AI service like Google AI Studio (using a model like Gemini). You then copy the AI's JSON response back into our tool to instantly launch your interactive quiz and printable materials.

What is a "MegaPrompt" and why is it necessary?

A MegaPrompt is a highly-engineered set of instructions that tells an AI exactly how to analyze a Wikipedia article and structure its response. Instead of just asking for "a quiz," it specifies the question types, formatting, and JSON structure required by our engine. This ensures the output is high-quality, accurate, and perfectly compatible with our system.

Why do I have to use an external AI service?

This "Bring Your Own AI" approach is what allows us to keep TriviaQuestions.online completely free. By leveraging powerful, publicly available AI models, we avoid the immense server costs of hosting them ourselves. This gives you direct access to state-of-the-art technology at no cost.

Do I need an API Key?

No. We would NEVER ask for API keys. Additionally, you use whatever AI chatbot you desire (we preferred Gemini Pro 3.0 at the time of publishing), so those are free interfaces that allow you to simply copy/paste as needed without an API key.

What is the difference between the Quiz Generator and the Authoring Studio?

The Quiz Generator is for creating a single, immediate quiz. The Authoring Studio is a more advanced, project-based environment for educators to build, refine, and save a complete, reusable lesson plan, which we call a "Kit." For example, the quiz generator creates the questions, answers, explanations, and some other small items. The Author Studio actually creates questions, answers, explanations, and mappings so that the study guides can intelligently map to the proper flash cards. The kit datas are editable and transferable.

What exactly is a "Kit"?

A Kit is your all-in-one digital lesson plan. It's a single .json file that contains every component for a topic: a title, a master image, subject categories (e.g., "Vocabulary," "Key Figures"), a full bank of flashcards, and a bank of questions. Once a Kit is created, you can use it to generate a full suite of coursework in minutes.

What are the main tools inside the Authoring Studio?

The studio is a curriculum command center with several powerful modules:

• Kit Manager: Defines your Kit's identity—its title, cover image, and the topics that structure the lesson.
• Flashcard Author: Lets you create and edit the fundamental knowledge blocks (terms, facts, concepts) of your Kit.
• Question Author: Helps you build a bank of True/False and Multiple Choice questions to assess student understanding.
• Intelligent Mapper: This is the secret sauce. It allows you to link specific flashcards to related questions. When you generate a study guide, these links automatically create "Related Concepts" sections, building a web of knowledge.

What materials can I generate from a single Kit?

The studio's Generator Suite can instantly create a full range of professional materials:

• Smart Study Guides: The ultimate review document, combining questions, answers, detailed explanations, and the "Related Concepts" you linked in the Mapper.
• Worksheets & Exams: Generate unique assessments every time with randomized questions and options. Creates both a clean Student Version and a Teacher Version with a detailed answer key.
• Printable Flashcards: Generates perfectly formatted, print-ready flashcard sheets from your flashcard bank.

How do I save my work or collaborate with others?

The studio has robust import/export functions. You can Export & Save your entire Kit as a single .json file for backup or to share with a colleague. You can also Import & Merge a Kit, allowing you to combine your work with someone else's or merge two of your lessons into a larger review unit.

Future features

Will there be updates or new features?

Yes. This project is the foundation for my overall strategy. The idea is to create as many helpful, free, fun tools and games as possible. In late 2026, I will be releasing a CCG (collectible card game) trivia app. (stay tuned for more!). The eventual goal for me is monetization through these tools when possible (ie, upgraded features, ad revenues), so that I can focus my time on ALS Research (see the About page for more details).
