Vodno (Macedonian: Водно) is a mountain in North Macedonia. It is located in the northern part of the country, to the southwest of the capital city Skopje. The highest point of the mountain is on Krstovar peak, at 1066 meters and the submontane is at 337 meters (Middle Vodno is on 557 m). In 2002, on Krstovar peak the Millennium Cross was built, one of the biggest Christian Crosses in the world.

Skopje Basin (Macedonian: Скопска Котлина, romanizedSkopska Kotlina) or Skopje Plain (Macedonian: Скопско Поле, romanizedSkopsko Pole) is one of the largest basins in North Macedonia. It represents the second largest valley along the course of the Vardar river. The Skopje Valley is formed by the mountains of Žeden, Ivanje (Matka) and Suva Gora in the west, Skopska Crna Gora in the north, Gradiščanska Planina (Gjurište) in the east and northeast, Golešnica in the southeast and Kitka, Karadžica and Vodno, i.e. the massif of Mokra Planina in the south. The administrative and population centre of the Skopje Basin is Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia.

Vodno in the context of Millennium Cross

The Millennium Cross (Macedonian: Милениумски крст, Mileniumski krst) is a 66-metre (217 ft) tall cross situated on the top of Vodno Mountain in North Macedonia above the capital city of Skopje. Built in 2002, it is one of the tallest crosses worldwide. It was constructed to serve as a memorial for 2,000 years of Christianity in Macedonia and to honour biblical passages citing the evangelisation activities of St. Paul within the region. The monument has become a symbol associated with or representing Skopje. As a landmark, the cross has turned into a tourist destination with the best observation point to see the panorama of the capital city.

Vodno in the context of Dolno Sonje

Dolno Sonje (Macedonian: Долно Соње) is a village in the municipality of Sopište, North Macedonia. It is located on the other side of Mount Vodno from Skopje, but a road running around the mountain connects the two communities.

Dolno Sonje is a popular vacation spot for its clean air, beautiful surroundings, and medieval churches.
