The Capital District (Spanish: Distrito Capital) is a federal district of Venezuela. It has an area of 433 km (167 sq mi) and there is only one administrative division (municipio), Libertador, which contains about half of Caracas, the Venezuelan capital city, which is also the seat of the three branches of the federal government of Venezuela. The population in 2004 was 2,073,768. The district borders the states of Vargas and Miranda.

Metropolitan Region of Caracas (MRC) or Greater Caracas (GC) (Spanish: Región Metropolitana de Caracas; RMC or Gran Caracas; GC) is the urban agglomeration comprising the Metropolitan District of Caracas and the adjacent 11 municipalities over Miranda and Vargas state in Venezuela. Thus, it does not constitute a single administrative unit. The conurbation spreads south, west, east and north of Caracas. It has a population of 5,243,301.

Pico Naiguatá is the summit of a mountain in South America near Caracas, Venezuela, part of the Venezuelan Coastal Range, of which it is the highest peak. It is situated on the border of the Venezuelan states Miranda and Vargas. With a summit elevation of 2,765 metres (9,072 ft) above sea level and a prominence of 2,455 metres (8,054 ft), it is the highest point in both of these states and the fourth highest of the Caribbean after Pico Simón Bolivar and Pico Cristóbal Colón of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta range in Colombia and Pico Duarte in the Dominican Republic.

Maiquetía "Simón Bolívar" International Airport (IATA: CCS, ICAO: SVMI, Spanish: Aeropuerto Internacional de Maiquetía "Simón Bolívar") is an international airport located in Maiquetía, Vargas, Venezuela, serving Caracas, the capital of the country, the center of which is about 21 kilometres (13 mi) to the west. Commonly known simply as Maiquetía by the local population, it is the main international air passenger gateway to Venezuela. The airport handles flights to several destinations in Central and South America as well as a few services to Spain, Russia and China although many international routes have been terminated since 2014.

Maiquetía is a city located in the Central Region of Venezuela, in the state of Vargas. It is at approximately 19 m above sea level on a small shelf between the Caribbean and the mountains behind it. Caracas, the Venezuelan capital, is approximately 37 km to the southeast.

Maiquetía is mainly a commercial center. The historic center has many narrow streets lined with stores and a market. The main road in this part of the city is the Avenida Carlos Soublette. The recent geopolitical divisions in Vargas makes Maiquetía no longer include the Simón Bolívar International Airport, the most important one in the country and the commercial airport serving Caracas. Conviasa, the Venezuelan flag carrier airline, is headquartered in the city. Even though the airport is now in the state of Vargas, it has kept the name Maiquetía.

Litoral Varguense conurbation (Spanish: Conurbación del Litoral Varguense is a metropolitan area in Vargas, Venezuela, that includes 10 parishes, it is part of the Greater Caracas Area. It has a population of 341,325 inhabitants.
