An iwan (Persian: ایوان, eyvān, also romanized as ivan or ivān/īvān, Arabic: إيوان, ’īwān) is a rectangular hall or space, usually vaulted, walled on three sides, with one end entirely open. The formal gateway to the iwan is called pishtaq, a Persian term for a portal projecting from the facade of a building, usually decorated with calligraphy bands, glazed tilework, and geometric designs. Since the definition allows for some interpretation, the overall forms and characteristics can vary greatly in terms of scale, material, or decoration.

Iwans are most commonly associated with Islamic architecture; however, the form is pre-Islamic Iranian in origin and was invented much earlier and fully developed in Mesopotamia around the third century CE, during the Parthian period.

Band-i Qīr (Persian: بندقير, meaning 'bitumen dam', also Romanized as Band-e Qīr, Band-e Qir, and Band Qīr; also known as Bid Ghir) is a village in Miyan Ab Rural District, in the Central District of Shushtar County, Khuzestan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 446, in 73 families.

The Voronezh (Russian: Воро́неж, pronounced [vɐˈronʲiʂ]), also romanized as Voronež, is a river in Tambov, Lipetsk, and Voronezh oblasts in Russia, a left tributary of the Don. The Voronezh is 342 kilometres (213 mi) long, with a drainage basin of 21,600 square kilometres (8,300 sq mi). It freezes up in the first half of December and stays under the ice until late March. The lower reaches of the river are navigable. The cities of Lipetsk and Voronezh are along the Voronezh River.

Going upstream, it leaves the Don south of Voronezh and goes north parallel and east of the Don for about 150 kilometres (93 mi). West of Michurinsk it swings east and splits into the Lesnoy and Polny Voronezh Rivers ("Forest and Field Voronezh"). These go north about 75 kilometres (47 mi) to the border of Ryazan Oblast. To the north are tributaries of the Oka. To the east are the basins of the south-flowing Bityug which joins the Don and the north-flowing Tsna which reaches the Oka via the Moksha.

The Ahmadilis (Persian: احمدیلی), also known as the Atabegs of Maragheh (اتابکان مراغه), Romanized as Atābakān-e Marāghe, were Atabegs of the Seljuk Empire and a local Turcoman dynasty who ruled from the early 12th century until 1208–09 in Maragheh itself and in Ru'in Dez for some years after the Mongol invasion of the Khwarazmian Empire. They ruled approximately from 1122 to 1225.

Notices in the chronicles of this localised line of Atabegs are only sporadic, and numismatic evidences have not thus far been found, so it is difficult to reconstruct their chronology and genealogy. Bosworth says that they were a dynasty of Oghuz Turk origin that started with Aq Sunqur Ahmadili, who was presumably a freedman of the commander of the Seljuq Empire, Ahmadil ibn Ibrahim. Aq Sunqur Ahmadili became Atagberg of the Seljuk Prince Dawud ibn Mahmud. His son Aq-Sonqur II was Ataberg for the infant son of Muhammad ibn Mas'ud in 1159, and in 1160 tried to impose him in place of Arslan-Shah (Seljuk sultan), who was supported by the Eldiguzids for the Seljuk succession, but in vain.
