A private island is a disconnected body of land wholly owned by a private citizen or corporation. Although this exclusivity gives the owner substantial control over the property, private islands remain under the jurisdiction of national and sometimes local governments. Their size can vary widely, from that of a typical suburban yard to several hundred square kilometers.

Metelik Island (Turkish: Metelik Adası) is an island in Turkey, about 300 meters off the coast of İsmetpaşa, Foça, in the Gulf of İzmir, in the Aegean Sea. Metelik Adası means "island of a low-value coin" or "small change island." It is a private island, previously owned by the Social Security Institution.
The island is part of the Foça Islands group. It has a surface area of about 1.5 hectares, a radius of about 150 meters, an elevation of about 1 meter, and a total shoreline of about 250 meters. The higher parts support vegetation, while the edges are bare rock.

Mustique /mʌˈstiːk/ is a 2,470 hectares (6,100 acres) private island in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. It is part of the Grenadines, a chain of islands in the West Indies. The island is located within Grenadines Parish, and the closest island is the uninhabited Petite Mustique, located 2 km (1.2 mi) to the south.
The island's year-round population of about 500 live mostly in the villages of Lovell, Britannia Bay and Dovers. The population rises to 1,200 in peak season. Ferry service is provided to the island from Saint Vincent on the M/V Endeavour. The island is also accessible via Mustique Airport.

Covering an area of 5.5 square kilometres or 2.1 square miles, the island is known for its natural beauty, with around 4,000 olive trees and surrounded by clear blue waters.
Privately owned, 85% of it belonging to the Tsaoussis family, while the remaining 15% is under the ownership of the nearby island of Kefalonia.

Skorpios or Scorpios (Greek: Σκορπιός, pronounced [skorˈpços]) is a private island in the Ionian Sea off the western coast of Greece and just to the east of the island of Lefkada. The 2011 census reported a population of five inhabitants. Administratively it is part of the municipality of Meganisi in Lefkada regional unit.
