Yotvingians, also called Sudovians, Jatvians, or Jatvingians, were a Western Baltic people who were closely tied to the Old Prussians. The linguist Petras Būtėnas once asserted that they were closest to the Lithuanians. The Yotvingians contributed to the formation of the Lithuanian state.
