The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia (Georgian: საქართველოს შინაგან საქმეთა სამინისტრო), abbreviated MIA (შსს), is the highest state law enforcement agency of Georgia, the head of which (Minister) is a member of the government. The Ministry is accountable to the Government and fulfills the tasks imposed on it by the Prime Minister.

The Georgian Coast Guard (Georgian: საქართველოს სანაპირო დაცვა) is the maritime arm of the Georgian Border Police, within the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. It is responsible for the maritime protection of the entire 310 km (190 mi) Black Sea coastline of Georgia, as well as the Georgian territorial waters. The northern half of this coastaline is since the Russo-Georgian War under the control of Abkhazia, though. The primary missions of the service are administration of the territorial waters, marine pollution protection, maritime law enforcement, search and rescue, port security and maritime defence.
The former Georgian Navy (Georgian Naval Forces; Georgian: საქართველოს სამხედრო საზღვაო ძალები, sak’art’velos samkhedro-sazghvao dzalebi) was a branch of the Georgian Defense Ministry armed forces until 2009, when it was merged with the Coast Guard and transferred to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Before the 2008 war, the Georgian Navy consisted of 19 vessels and 531 personnel of which 181 were officers, 200 NCOs, 114 conscripts and 36 civilians.
The Border Police of Georgia (Georgian: შსს-ის საქართველოს სასაზღვრო პოლიცია) is the primary border guard force and coast guard in the country of Georgia, and is under command of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It is responsible for patrolling the entire 1839 km (1142.7 mi) land border of Georgia, as well as the country's 310 km (192.6 mi) coastline and territorial waters in the Black Sea. However, border control at checkpoints is instead performed by the Patrol Police department. The current chief is Nikoloz Sharadze.
Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia (Georgian: შინაგან საქმეთა მინისტრი, romanized: shinagan sakmeta minist'ri) is the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. The position is equivalent to the interior minister in other countries, like the Home Secretary in the United Kingdom, the Minister of Public Safety in Canada, or similar to a combination of the Attorney General and the Secretary of Homeland Security in the United States.
The Internal Troops of Georgia (Georgian: საქართველოს შინაგანი ჯარები, sak'art'velos shinagani jarebi, lit. 'Georgia's Inside Soldiers') was the militarized gendarmerie-like force in Georgia from 1991 to 2004. It was subordinated to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the police authority of the country.
