Milove (Ukrainian: Мілове; Russian: Меловое, romanizedMelovoye) is the easternmost rural settlement the nominal administrative center of Milove settlement hromada in the Starobilsk Raion of Luhansk Oblast in eastern Ukraine. Population: 5,680 (2022 estimate). Prior to 2020, it was the administrative centre of the former Milove Raion. The town is currently occupied by Russian troops.

The town is adjacent to the Russian town of Chertkovo in Rostov Oblast. Its train station used to be on the Russian side of the border at Chertkovo railway station.

Milove in the context of Milove Raion

Milove Raion (Ukrainian: Міловський район, romanizedMilovs'kyi raion; Russian: Меловский район, romanizedMelovskiy raion) was a raion (district) in Luhansk Oblast of eastern Ukraine. It was located on the Russian border. The administrative center of the raion was the urban-type settlement of Milove. The raion was abolished on 18 July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Luhansk Oblast to eight, of which only four were controlled by the government. The last estimate of the raion population was 14,885 (2020 est.). The territory of the former raion was occupied by invading Russian forces early in the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine and was reestablished.

Milove in the context of Chertkovo railway station

Chertkovo railway station (Russian: станция Чертково) is a former railway station in Chertkovo, Rostov oblast, Russia. It is 325 km down-line from Rostov-Glavny station and was situated between Zorinovka and Sheptukhovka on the Moscow–Rostov-on-Don line until 2017, when a bypass between Zhuravka and Millerovo was completed. The station is adjacent to the border with Ukraine, just across the tracks from the Ukrainian village of Milove.
