Lurøy is a municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is part of the Helgeland traditional region. The administrative centre of the municipality is located on the island of Onøya. Other villages in Lurøy include Aldra, Haugland, Konsvikosen, Lovund, Lurøy, Sleneset / Solværøyene, Stokkvågen, and Tonnes.

The municipality is located on the coast just south of the Arctic Circle, on the western edge of the Saltfjellet mountain range. The Lurøygården (Lurøy Farm) on the island of Lurøya is a more-than-200-year-old renaissance garden with old plants, a pool, and a nearly 20-metre (66 ft) high Copper Beech.

Lurøy Municipality in the context of Aldra

Aldra is an island in Lurøy Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located just off the mainland coast, north of the village of Haugland and west of Brattland. The island is separated from the mainland by the Aldersundet strait. The islands of Stigen and Lurøya lie to the west. The village of Aldra lies on the southeastern side of the island.

Aldra island is used as a VLF-transmission site. An antenna, spanning the fjord to Brattland, was used as part of the OMEGA Navigation System until 1997. That antenna was dismantled in 2002.

Haugland is a village in Lurøy Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The village is located on the mainland coast, along the Aldersundet strait between the mainland and the island of Aldra. Stigen (nicknamed: Østre Lurøya or Eastern Lurøya) is an island in Lurøy Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The 13.5-square-kilometre (5.2 sq mi) island lies immediately east of the island of Lurøya and northeast of the island of Onøya. The island has a population of 5 (in 2017). There are no road connections to the island. The highest point on the island is the 380-metre (1,250 ft) tall mountain that is also known as Stigen.

Lurøya is an island in Lurøy Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The 14.2-square-kilometre (5.5 sq mi) island is located just west of the island of Stigen and just north of the island of Onøya. Lurøya has a bridge connection to Onøya. The highest point on the island is the 685-metre (2,247 ft) tall mountain Lurøyfjellet. In 2017, there were 138 residents of the island.

The village of Lurøy is located on the southwestern coast of Lurøya. Lurøy Church is located in the village of Lurøy.
