Litoral (Spanish pronunciation: [litoˈɾal], meaning "Coastal [Province]") is the most populous province of Equatorial Guinea, recording a population of 367,348 in the 2015 national census. Its capital is Bata; the other two cities are Mbini and Kogo.
Litoral's western border is the Gulf of Guinea coast. It is the only coastal province of Río Muni. On land, it borders the following country subdivisions:

Bata (Spanish: [ˈbata] ) is a port city in the Litoral province of Equatorial Guinea. With a 2005 estimated population of 173,046, it is the most populous city in Equatorial Guinea. It lies on the Atlantic Ocean coast of Río Muni. Bata was formerly capital of Equatorial Guinea and is a transport hub and port, from which ferries sail to Malabo and Douala, while aircraft can land at Bata Airport. Bata is also known for its nightlife and market.

Bioko Norte (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈbjoko ˈnoɾte]) is the second-most populated of the eight provinces of Equatorial Guinea, after the Litoral province. It contained 300,374 of the island's 335,048 inhabitants in 2015, sub-divided into 2 districts - Malabo (271,008) and Baney (27,366). Both the provincial capital, Rebola, and the national capital, Malabo are located here. Heavily forested with little urban development, the southern central part includes part of the Parque Nacional del Pico Basilé, a 330 square kilometres (130 sq mi) national park which was established in 2000.
