Las Palmas (province) in the context of "Province of Tenerife"

Puerto del Rosario (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈpweɾto ðel roˈsaɾjo]) is a town and a municipality in the eastern part of the island of Fuerteventura in the Las Palmas province in the Canary Islands. It has been the capital of Fuerteventura since 1860. The town's population is 29,160 (2013), the administrative district's (municipio de Puerto del Rosario) population is 36,744 and its area is 289.95 km².

Teguise (pronounced [teˈɣise]) is a municipality in the central part of the island of Lanzarote in the Las Palmas province in the Canary Islands. The population is 22,342 (as of 1 January 2019), and the area is 263.98 km. It is located north of Arrecife and south of Haría. The seat of the municipality is the town of Teguise. The municipality also comprises a number of neighbouring islands including Graciosa (with 733 inhabitants in 2019), Alegranza, Roque del Este, Roque del Oeste and Montaña Clara.

The artist and architect César Manrique was born in the area. The insect of the island is the cochineal from which carmine, a dye, is extracted.

Teguise (pronounced [teˈɣise]), also known in Spanish as La Villa de Teguise, is a village in the municipality of Teguise in the north-central part of the island of Lanzarote in Las Palmas province in the Canary Islands. The town's population is 1,776 as of 1 January 2018.

The town is the capital of the municipality of Teguise.
