Krasnodar Krai (Russian: Краснода́рский край, romanized: Krasnodarskiy kray, [krəsnɐˈdarskʲɪj kraj]) is a federal subject of Russia (a krai), located in the North Caucasus region in Southern Russia and is administratively a part of the Southern Federal District. Its administrative center is the city of Krasnodar. The third most populous federal subject in Russia, it had a population of 5,838,273 as of the 2021 Census.

Krasnodar Krai is formally and informally referred to as Kuban (Russian: Кубань), a term denoting the historical region of Kuban situated between the Sea of Azov and the Kuban River which is predominantly within the krai. It is bordered by Rostov Oblast to the north, Stavropol Krai to the east, Karachay-Cherkessia to the south-east. Adygea is an enclave entirely within the krai. Krasnodar Krai shares an international border with Georgia and borders annexed Crimea to the west, across the Kerch Strait.

Krasnodar, formerly Yekaterinodar (until 1920), is the largest city and the administrative centre of Krasnodar Krai, Russia. The city stands on the Kuban River in southern Russia, with a population of 1,154,885 residents, and up to 1.263 million residents in the Urban Okrug. In the past decade Krasnodar has experienced rapid population growth, rising to become the tenth-largest city in Russia, and the largest city in southern Russia, as well as the Southern Federal District.

The city originated in 1793 as a fortress built by the Cossacks, and became a trading center for southern Russia. The city sustained heavy damage in World War II but was rebuilt and renovated after the war. Krasnodar is a major economic hub in southern Russia; In 2012, Forbes named Krasnodar the best city for business in Russia. Krasnodar is home to numerous sights, including the Krasnodar Stadium. Its main airport is Krasnodar International Airport.

The Temryuk Bay (Russian: Темрюкский залив, Temryuksky zaliv) is a gulf or bay of the Sea of Azov located on the northern coast of the Taman Peninsula, Krasnodar Krai, Russia. It extends roughly 27 km inland and is 60 km at its widest.

The southern portion of the bay is the estuary of the Kuban River. It is the site of the town of Temryuk, which gives its name to the bay.

Karachayevsk (Russian: Карача́евск; Karachay-Balkar: Къарачай шахар, Qaraçay şaxar) is a town in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, Russia, located on the Kuban River in the Caucasus Mountains. Population: 21,483 (2010 census); 22,113 (2002 census); 21,582 (1989 Soviet census).

Nevinnomyssk (Russian: Невинномысск) is a city in Stavropol Krai, Russia, located on both banks of the Kuban River at its confluence with the Bolshoy Zelenchuk River, 54 kilometers (34 mi) south of Stavropol.

The only single-industry town in Stavropol Krai. Since December 22, 2017 year — the territory of advanced socio-economic development.

Armavir (Russian: Армави́р; Adyghe: Ермэлхьабл, Ermălḥabl) is a city in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, located on the left bank of the Kuban River. Population: 187,177 (2021 census); 188,832 (2010 census); 193,964 (2002 census); 160,983 (1989 Soviet census). As of 2020, the city has a population of 188,960, while the agglomeration has a population of 207,570. Armavir is the second-largest industrial center of Krasnodar Krai, after Krasnodar.

Novokubansk (Russian: Новокуба́нск) is a town and the administrative center of Novokubansky District of Krasnodar Krai, Russia, located on the Kuban River. Population: 35,199 (2020), 34,880 (2010 census); 35,400 (2002 census); 30,201 (1989 Soviet census). The population of Novokubansk accounts for 40.4% of the district's total population.

Kropotkin (Russian: Кропо́ткин) is a town in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, located on the right bank of the Kuban River.

Temryuk (Russian: Темрю́к, IPA: [tʲɪmˈrʲʉk]) is a town and the administrative center of Temryuksky District in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, located on the Taman Peninsula on the right bank of the Kuban River not far from its entry into the Temryuk Bay, amid a field of mud volcanoes. The seaport of Temryuk is situated 4 kilometers (2.5 mi) from the town itself. Population: 41,413 (2020), 38,046 (2010 census); 36,118 (2002 census); 33,163 (1989 Soviet census); 26,600 (1975).
