Eurostat ("European Statistical Office"; also DG ESTAT) is a department of the European Commission (Directorate-General), located in the Kirchberg quarter of Luxembourg City, Luxembourg. Eurostat's main responsibilities are to provide statistical information to the institutions of the European Union (EU) and to promote the harmonisation of statistical methods across its member states and candidates for accession as well as EFTA countries. The organisations in the different countries that cooperate with Eurostat are summarised under the concept of the European Statistical System.

The Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) (French: Cour de justice de l'Union européenne or "CJUE"; Latin: Curia) is the judicial branch of the European Union (EU). Seated in the Kirchberg quarter of Luxembourg City, Luxembourg, this EU institution consists of two separate courts: the Court of Justice and the General Court. From 2005 to 2016, it also contained the Civil Service Tribunal. It has a sui generis court system, meaning 'of its own kind', and is a supranational institution.

The CJEU is the chief judicial authority of the EU and oversees the uniform application and interpretation of European Union law, in co-operation with the national judiciary of the EU member states. CJEU also resolves legal disputes between national governments and EU institutions, and may take action against EU institutions on behalf of individuals, companies, or organisations whose rights have been infringed.

The Secretariat of the European Parliament is the administrative body of the European Parliament headed by a Secretary-General. It is based in the Kirchberg quarter of Luxembourg City and around Brussels-Luxembourg railway station in Brussels and employs around 4,000 officials.

The Grand Duchess Charlotte Bridge (Luxembourgish: Groussherzogin-Charlotte-Bréck, French: Pont Grande-Duchesse Charlotte, German: Großherzogin-Charlotte-Brücke) is a road bridge in Luxembourg City, in southern Luxembourg. It carries the N51 across the Alzette, connecting Avenue John F. Kennedy, in Kirchberg, to Boulevard Robert Schuman, in Limpertsberg. The bridge is also known as the Red Bridge (Luxembourgish: Rout Bréck, German: Rote Brücke, French: Pont Rouge) on account of its distinctive red paintwork. It is the main route connecting the city centre, Ville Haute, to Kirchberg, the site of the city's European Union institutions.

Pfaffenthal (German pronunciation: [ˈpfafn̩ˌtaːl]; Luxembourgish: Pafendall, pronounced [ˈpaːfəndɑl] ) is a district in central Luxembourg City, in southern Luxembourg. The district owes its name to the German words Pfaffen, meaning monk, and Tal, meaning valley, as the area was once administered by the Benedictine Abbey in Altmunster. During the Middle Ages, this site was popular with craftsmen and artisans, who used the Alzette River to aid in their work. The site is a strategically important gateway to Luxembourg City, and was thus repeatedly fortified by successive rulers from about the fourteenth to eighteenth centuries.

Since December 2017, Pfaffenthal is served by the Pfaffenthal-Kirchberg railway station, which connects it to the district of Kirchberg above through the Pfaffenthal-Kirchberg funicular.

The N51 is a road in Luxembourg City, in southern Luxembourg. It is one of the city's main thoroughfares, carrying traffic from Ville Haute, through Kirchberg, to a junction with the A1. For the north-eastern three quarters of its length, on the eastern side of the Alzette, it bears the name Avenue John F. Kennedy. West of the Alzette, it is successively named Boulevard Robert Schuman (after Robert Schuman); Boulevard de la Foire; and Boulevard Grand-Duchesse Charlotte (after Grand Duchess Charlotte).

At its southern end, in south-western Ville Haute, the N51 meets the N4 at an intersection. From here, it heads northwards, followed by northeastwards, skirting the western edge of Ville Haute. After bending almost a full right angle, it crosses the Alzette river, being carried over Pfaffenthal by the Grand Duchess Charlotte Bridge. On the eastern side, it reaches Kirchberg, where it is known as Avenue John Fitzgerald Kennedy, named after United States President John F. Kennedy. The road runs the length of Kirchberg, forming its most important arterial road. It passes several large buildings in Kirchberg, including the Robert Schuman Building, the Philharmonie Luxembourg, d'Coque arena, and the Kinepolis Kirchberg cinema multiplex. Near the city limits, the N51 meets the A1, which carries traffic eastwards, towards Germany.

Pfaffenthal-Kirchberg railway station (Luxembourgish: Gare Pafendall-Kierchbierg; French: Gare de Pfaffenthal-Kirchberg; German: Bahnhof Pfaffenthal-Kirchberg) is a rail station on CFL Line 10, in the north of Luxembourg City which opened in December 2017. It is located above Rue Saint-Mathieu in the Pfaffenthal quarter, below the Grand Duchess Charlotte Bridge, overlooking the Alzette River. The Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois (CFL), the state-owned rail company, operates both the station and the associated funicular line, which links the station to the Kirchberg.

The Philharmonie Luxembourg, also known officially as the Grande-Duchesse Joséphine-Charlotte Concert Hall (French: Salle de concerts grande-duchesse Joséphine-Charlotte, German: Konzertsaal Großherzogin Joséphine-Charlotte), is a concert hall located in the European district in the Luxembourg City quarter of Kirchberg. Opened in 2005, it now plays host to 400 performances each year.
