Bardejov (pronunciation; Hungarian: BĆ”rtfa, German: Bartfeld, Rusyn: БарГеёв, Ukrainian: БарГіїв, Polish: Bardejów) is a town in North-Eastern Slovakia. It is situated in the Å ariÅ” region on a floodplain terrace of the Topľa River, in the hills of the Beskyd Mountains. It exhibits numerous cultural monuments in its completely intact medieval town center. The town is one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites and currently maintains a population of about 32,000 inhabitants.

Topľa (Hungarian: Tapoly, German: Töpl) is a river in eastern Slovakia and right tributary of the Ondava. It is 131.4 km (81.6 mi) long and its basin covers an area of 1,544 km (596 sq mi). It rises in the Čergov mountains, flows through Ondava Highlands, Beskidian Piedmont, Eastern Slovak Hills and Eastern Slovak Flat and flows into the Ondava in the cadastral area of Parchovany. It flows through the towns of Bardejov, Giraltovce, HanuŔovce nad Topľou and Vranov nad Topľou.
