MacArthur Chambers is a heritage-listed former office building at 229 Queen Street (corner of Edward Street), Brisbane City, City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was designed by Francis Richard Hall and built from 1931 to 1934 by George Alexander Stronach. It was also known as the AMP Building. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 21 October 1992.

The MacArthur Chambers building and sites adjacent to the building, comprising an entire city block, were redeveloped in the late 1990s, creating the shopping mall MacArthur Central. In 2016, MacArthur Chambers contains the MacArthur Chambers Apartment Hotel, the MacArthur Museum and an Apple Store.

Edward Street, Brisbane in the context of Gardens Point, Brisbane

Gardens Point is the southernmost area of the peninsula that forms the central business district of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It is located immediately south of Alice Street and is bounded by the Brisbane River on its other three sides. Historically a convict farm that supplied a variety of food crops for the fledgling Moreton Bay Penal Settlement, Gardens Point would eventually become an experimental botanical reserve, and then gardens and parkland for the citizens of Brisbane. It is also a hub of politics and education, hosting important institutions such as the Parliament of Queensland and the chancellery and inner-city campus of the Queensland University of Technology. Frog's Hollow is a historic neighbourhood which lies immediately to the north of Gardens Point, and consists of the six or so city blocks bounded by Charlotte, Edward, Alice and George streets. It forms the lower part of the Brisbane CBD, which occupies the rest of the peninsula and some adjacent areas.

MacArthur Central, also known as MacArthur Central Shopping Centre, in Brisbane, Australia, is a four level shopping centre that incorporates an English Renaissance styled heritage-listed building known as MacArthur Chambers.

MacArthur Central is on the north-east corners of Queen Street, Edward Street and Elizabeth Street. During World War II, General Douglas MacArthur used the building as the Allied forces' South West Pacific Area Headquarters from July 1942 to November 1944.
