Co-Prince of Andorra in the context of Crown of France

Presidential elections were held in France on 21 and 22 April 2007 to elect the successor to Jacques Chirac as president of France (and ex officio Co-Prince of Andorra) for a five-year term. As no candidate received a majority of the vote, a second round was held on 5 and 6 May 2007 between the two leading candidates, Nicolas Sarkozy and Ségolène Royal. Sarkozy was elected with 53% of the vote.

Sarkozy and Royal both represented a generational change. Both main candidates were born after World War II, along with the first to have seen adulthood under the Fifth Republic, and the first not to have been in politics under Charles de Gaulle. In addition, Royal was the first woman in France's history to reach the second round in a presidential election.

Josep-Lluís Serrano Pentinat (Western Catalan: [dʒuˈzɛb ʎuˈis seˈrano pentiˈnat]; born 19 March 1977) is a Spanish prelate of the Catholic Church who has been serving as Bishop of Urgell and ex officio episcopal Co-Prince of Andorra since 2025. Serrano worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See from 2012 to 2024.

Emmanuel Jean-Michel Frédéric Macron (born 21 December 1977) is a French politician who has served as President of France and Co-Prince of Andorra since 2017. He served as Minister of Economics and Finance under President François Hollande from 2014 to 2016. He has been a member of Renaissance since founding the party in 2016.

Born in Amiens, Macron studied philosophy at Paris Nanterre University. He completed a master's degree in public affairs at Sciences Po and graduated from the École nationale d'administration in 2004. He worked as a senior civil servant at the General Inspectorate of Finance and as an investment banker at Rothschild & Co. Macron was a senior adviser to President Hollande, being appointed as Élysée deputy secretary-general by Hollande after the 2012 presidential election. He was later appointed as Economics Minister in 2014 in the second Valls government, and led several business-friendly reforms. He resigned in 2016 to launch his 2017 presidential campaign. A member of the Socialist Party between 2006 and 2009, he ran in the election under the banner of En Marche !, a centrist and pro-European political movement which he founded in 2016.

Joan Martí i Alanis (29 November 1928 – 11 October 2009) was a Spanish Catholic prelate who served as Bishop of Urgell and ex officio episcopal co-Prince of Andorra from 1971 to 2003. He was a co-signatory, along with François Mitterrand, of Andorra's new constitution in 1993.

In 1979, he founded Caritas Andorra.

Joan-Enric Vives i Sicília (Catalan: [ʒuˈan ənˈriɡ ˈbiβəz i siˈsili.ə]; born 24 July 1949) is a Spanish Catholic prelate who served as Bishop of Urgell and ex officio episcopal Co-Prince of Andorra from 2003 to 2025.
